Deev and Moral Imperative. Ends justify the means?

Dear Parsy, talking about the Polish and Poland,  It was called and still remembered as SOLIDARITY MVEMENT, starting no other place but the belly of the Communism—Lenin Shipyards, by no one but a simple Iron Workers and dedicated and committed friends.  Martial Law was imposed in Poland, freedom seekers were put in prison and many is said to disappear! –any similarity here?! It eventually however brought down an empire with all its might.

No I am not prescribing the cookie-cutter approach and one size fits all. The Polish experience is very valuable lesson. Solidarity movement, like any successful social movement, was a grass root movement, by and for ordinary polish people and not led by Ann-tellectuals of any color, born again patriots, the relative of Czar of Russia!! Or the Catholic Church. I have no problem receiving any assistance from any of them and more with ABSULUTELY NO STRING ATTACHED. The ultimate goal and achievement of that is not only price-less but a moral imperative , may be a little bit of Machiavellian thinking can be justified here!

May be we need to think more in terms of the Weber’s “ethic of ultimate ends” MAY BE we need not to be too concern with the MEANS of achieving our MORAL goal. The consequences of our conduct, a successful change in the course of our history, could be judged by philosophers and historians as morally right and just. The two recent events in history highlight the argument. The blanket bombing of Vietnamese towns and villages and killing of the innocent people—OBJECTIVE vs. collateral damage. The blanket bombing of German towns and villages (WWII) and killing of the innocent people—OBJECTIVE vs. collateral damage. There is no easy answer, but the problem remains the same and that is the the morality of the goal-consequences and means to achieve it, does “Ends Justify the Means?” There would have been millions of innocent life saved if, only if you could reason, negotiate and compromise with a degenerated Nazi psychopath named Hitler. The Hitler’s avatars, in different shades and color and persona, come and go every so often in human history, how can human fight the Deev and Ahriman? How did Rostam dealt with the Deev?!

  You ask a very simple but yet very complicated question, a question that millions both inside and outside Iran are asking themselves everyday for 30+ years; searching for a solution for our desperate nation that begs to be released from the Iron Fist of Ahriman is not an easy one but yet it seems that every time we take one step forward we turn around and take two steps backward, everyday instead of improving and building a future for the youth of the nation we are putting our resources to build the strongest weapon that man kind has ever seen, which has only one goal: to Annihilate and Destroy lives and hopes.

Just like you, I would like to see how others think/beliefs are regarding your subject and one of the most eye-opening but yet very sad answers I heard was from this Polish man who was very much involved in the over throw of the communist regime in his country; basically to put it in simple words it would  translate the best in to :

Shomaha Irania Deletoon Barayeh Mamlekatetoon Aslan Nemisoozeh, "the people in your country still don’t know how much power they have, your people under estimate themselves and until the day comes that (mellat) wakes up and unleashes their power and demand for a change and see finally their true potential you will going to have the current government and regime for many years to come"
