Disgusting they met their end so violently,
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Mon Nov 19, 2012 10:37 PM PSTthere were many who met their ends violently as a result of Dariush Forouhars political activities, though it doesn't make it right that he would meet the same fate that his anti-shah views helped create for countless others. He had been very active in the anti-Shah nationalist movement and was a strong supporter of the UK's pet Tyrant Mossadegh. Iranian Politics in the era after ww2 was like before heavey influenced by non local powers and that is not just a sad rememberance of a single person, like dariush forouhar, but a sad memory for an entire society even today, that has veered further away from the possibility of being capable of creating democratic institutions.
Where were Irans Great Nationalists/Patriots who were also Royalists? Where were Irans Great Democrats who were also Royalists? On the part of the people of Iran, I ask where where the Great Nationalists/Patriots and Democrats of the previous era who were also Royalists?
If Iranians were as wise as they think they are, at the very least you would read in the comments on ic of the painfull regret of people for having been so ignorant and backward as a society that the people could not even produce a single great democrat or nationalist/patriot worthy of mention, that was also a royalist. However you don't read it on ic, because wise Iranians are a very rare breed, if they even exist. The Notion that either patriotism or democracy are not in harmony with royalty is one that has been held by many idiots of iranian birth, including mahin & mossadegh.
