It was a majestic afternoon.
There we were Rudaki and I
Marzieh and Banan
along with a few American pupils.
We all smelled the coming fragrance
of the brook of “Moolian”
It seems we were standing
in the tunnel of time
one end of which was in “Bukhara”
and the other in Maryland in America.
One end in the tenth century
the other in the twenty first.
We all were amazed by the beauty
of the words and songs.
We were astonished by the
magic and endurance of
Persian language through the test
of place and time!
It was a majestic afternoon.

I simply love this magnificent poem. I find its original (?) Persian versian to have a more dramatic effect. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Azadeh
