Goodbye, my love

This is it. In a few days iranian.com will be no more -- not the way you have known it for the past 12 years.

I love the new design by Ardalan Payvar. I am thrilled that user experience and interactivity will be greatly enhanced. It's time for iranian.com to grow up a little. The future is bright :o)

Still, it's hard to let go.

I've been so used to working the same way, day after day after day. And I really didn't have any complaints. I was pretty much happy the way things were: Wake up, check emails, pick and publish what people have sent, put a few news links up, and go to sleep.

Sounds like a mouse on a treadmill? Well I wouldn't argue with that. But consider what this treadmill actually produced: Words, millions of YOUR words, expressed in a way never possible before the age of Internet.

So you can imagine how exciting it is to publish under these unique circumstances, to break imaginary boundaries, to say something different, to make people laugh -- and all of it without ANY outside interference.

Freedom baby, that's what it's all about. The new iranian.com will allow all to be able to express more and in more ways than ever. But I'll still miss the old order :o)
