The Kurdish flag missing on that "map"?
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Wed Jan 28, 2009 08:57 AM PSTThe Kurds are playing a huge role in stopping insurgency and encouraging the democratic movement in the M.E. As for those "mistakes" Do you remember when Bush sr. left those wonderful Kurds to rot under Saddam? Kurds have been patient and grateful for losing Saddam, and it's time to honor them for that, considering their immense sacrifices (human sacrifices).
I hope President Obama does this!
Framraz ,do you know ZAHAK in shah-naame ?
by king david (not verified) on Wed Jan 28, 2009 04:25 AM PSTwhen king had to allways feed the snakes ?
reason for attack was election in isreal .. ,in isreal , the party thats kills most gets most gets the most vote ,
so you have to feed the snake to stay king
isreal did not atack gaza because of hamas firework , as isreal was first to break the truce ,
during truce isreal denied food and water and electricity , thats when there was no rockets
according to isreal , attack was planed 6 months ago media and next attacks are planed as we speak
last atack in lebanon was planed 2 years in advance
they must feed the snake again and you know who king is
its not obama
it's time to talk to Hamas
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Tue Jan 27, 2009 05:21 PM PSTLike it or not, it's a must. For Israel, for USA for everyone who wants to stop this fugging disaster. Of course, it might require some people to swallow egos and forego major profits based largely on war/corruption.
great approach by Obama
by Marjane S (not verified) on Tue Jan 27, 2009 12:35 PM PSTYes! they need to hear them out. Nothing is more important to people who think their story has not been told fairly than to have a chance to tell it to someone who can make a difference.
I am very optimistic and I am hoping that Obama and Carter can put their heads together and put an end to this never-ending war in the middle east.
Thank you for the video and the commentaries. Very informative indeed.
Give it a rest jaleho, no one is buying your rationale
by Faramarz_Fateh on Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:06 AM PSTJaleho,
If you think for a micro second that Obama or anyone else high up in the administration is going to take the side of Arabs or Muslims or both over the side of Israel, you are much less intelligent that I originally thought.
Israel's activities in Gaza took care of Hamas such that 50% of their "leaders" are gone to hell now. The other 50% will be taken care of in the next go around, after the idiots fire rockets into Israel one more time.
Thanks Haj Seyd Mammad!
by Jaleho on Tue Jan 27, 2009 10:50 AM PSTIsrael's failure to beat the legitimately elected Hamas in Gaza, a genocide supported by Bush and meant to extend Bush's policy into Obama's government, also means the failure to extend Bush policy!
That is, Israel and Bush tried very hard to obliterate Hamas and substitute Mahmoud Abbas as a Palestinian partner, something that Bush failed to do in his own term by sanctions, and Israel failed pathetically to force it militarily as a last resort.
The backlash is Obama stating:" We will not dictate to them what to do, and both side will decide for themselves." That is a great departure from, "regardless of who your people freely elect, we decide when elections and democracy is good (either you choose the one we like), or else we announce that "democracy is not always good, (after all, Hitler was elected too, the asinine comment that all idiots repeat!)
Israel tried to force Obama to accept a Linkud or hard line Kadima at best in Israel, and shove a Mahmoud Abbas to all of Palestine. The signals being sent seems to be very good so far:
"You have to deal with Hamas as a legitimate representative of Gaza," and hopefully the message for Israelis would be: "You wanted Netanyahu? Try it and see what you'll get from us!!"
And, the best part of message to AIPAC is Susan Rice already talking about direct dialogue with Iran.
