Princess Soraya in her unique film role in Michelangelo Antonioni's "I TRE VOLTI" aka "THREE FACES OF A WOMAN". A classic film of the Swinging 60's. The Film was shot in Three Separate Episodes each aimed at illustrating on aspect of Soraya's onscreen personality. This was a very trendy experimental cinematic typical of many films in the Swinging 60's. The Former Queen now only princess made a promising debut with this film co starring opposite such confirmed stars such as Irish Richard Harris and Italian comic Alberto Sordi as well as Spanish writer/actor Jose Luis de Villalonga. Antonioni was to direct a year later one of his famous english speaking films which happened to be the emblematic cinematographic experience of the Swingin 60's titled "BLOW UP".

Hi! DK

Having to leave your husband (I assume she loved him) and your country because you can't have children could not possibly have been a pleasant experience.

Judging from your posted clips,  I agree, she seems promising as an actress.

I'm Not so sure she had such a sad life after all ...

by Darius Kadivar on

She enjoyed the Highlights except in her love life ...

I think she had a far higher sense of humor than is usually attributed to her reputation as the "Princess with Sad eyes".

Her scenes with Alberto Sordi are really cute and funny. I think Latin Lover is my favorite of the Three Stories in "I Tre Volti" ...

She had potential as an actress ... Too bad she did not continue, it would have been interesting irony to see her start where Grace Kelly had Stopped in her career as an actress after becoming Princess of Monaco.

a sad story was

hers.  She was so beautiful and elegant.  To divorce your wife because she can not have children seems very harsh (for both parties) to me.  So what if the next in line to the throne would be a brother or his off springs.

MM

Thanks DK - good for her.
