What aspects of religion should atheists (respectfully) adopt? Alain de Botton suggests a "religion for atheists" -- call it Atheism 2.0 -- that incorporates religious forms and traditions to satisfy our human need for connection, ritual and transcendence. Alain de Botton is the author of a new book "Religion for Atheists" and of "How Proust Can Change Your Life." He is the founder of and of an architectural organisation called He spoke at the TED Global conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, last year.
