Flying

Amidst the company of a dozen blackened crows
or a single metallic shining humming bird
the cooing of the mourning doves
I am at home in my leaf casket
finally my body laid rest
free at last to fly
around the
rainbow
over the sun
so let go flesh
my soul finds its path
go back to what you know
finally awakened from this dream
we were so attached to clinging for life
why did we fight so hard to avoid this freedom
like the carnival ride fear was only in anticipation
