Arghavan Rezi had a tough 3 set match in the first round at Wimbledon. Still she managed to pull through 6-7 (8-10), 6-2, 7-5 against 63rd ranked Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia in a match that lasted over 2 hours.
Her next opponent will be 66th ranked Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic. With 6th ranked Samantha Stoser already eliminated in Arghavn's quarter, she will not face anyone ranked higher than her until the quarter!
This looks very good for Arghvan, hopefully she can win her next couple of games in two sets and save energy for next week, when the competion will be tough. Coincidentally, should she make it to the quarters, she could meet 3rd rank Caroline Wozniaki of Denamark, whom she already beat last week in Aegon International in 3 sets!
Arghavan's best showing at slams has been the 4th round. Hopefully this will be a break through event, and she can make it to the semi's or who knows?
Go Arghavan!
