I am a proud Iranian Muslim

I am a proud Iranian Muslim.

I love my religion and devote my life to it. I am filled with pride.

I go to mosque and preach my religion to others in a very subtle and non offensive way. I stop if they ask. Nobody has asked.

I have friends of all religions at my neighborhood, at my work and from my travels.

I have respect and mutual respect for all my friends regardless of religion.

I am happy with my religion and I am a proud Iranian too.

Even so I have not said anything offensive to anybody for any reason. I do not offend anybody else's religion or anything. I am constantly under attack and harrassment by vitriolic posters.

I have been told it is futile to talk with the haters. But I must. This is why I feel need to ask: is there any room for me on this website? how can you preach peace and tolerance if you cannot be respectful to me and millions like me in iran and 1Billion muslims in the world. why is there so much hate toward me? what did I do to desreve this hate?

please tell me.

No body buys this lovey dovey bull crap about Islam or its practitionaires. Islam is about oppressive force. PERIOD.

Go tell your story in a Muslim country where it may have some buyers.

Also, as a PROUD MUSLIM IRANIAN, may I suggest you go live there and help your brother & sisters?

Lets see if you run to censors and try to delete this comment as well.

The fact that other

by vildemose on

The fact that other religions have or haven’t committed any atrocities holds no bearing on the responsibility of Islam and Muslims towards what is happening in our country.

I think Ayatollah Montazeri has done that. He has been a exemplary muslim and I wish others will follow his lead. He has already indicated to the world that the Islamic Republic is neither Islamic NOR Republic. He has been steadfast in his conviction as a true muslim defending his religion valiantly.

Comparing Crimes

by LalehGillani on

Mammad wrote: “The Islam haters constantly talk about crimes done to Iranians in the name of Islam, but you never hear them protesting the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Muslims by Christians over the last two decades alone…”

You and I have been down this road several times, but let’s go there once more: It is time to compare crimes again. Your logic is based on a false premise: “Islam has killed less than other religions. So criticize them not us.”

The fact that other religions have or haven’t committed any atrocities holds no bearing on the responsibility of Islam and Muslims towards what is happening in our country. Muslim believers must answer for the deeds of their own faith. Let Christians and Jews do the same for themselves.

I too am proud of being Iranian and Muslim. I too am attacked on this thread by Islam haters. But, if you believe in something, you also stand up for it, explain it, defend it, and are proud of it. Hold your head high. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

These people - the people whom you rightly complain about - constantly make bogus claims about democracy, but in their "democracy" there is no place for Islam even as a private matter. Just as the Nazis tried to eradicate the Jews, these people use the same language about eradicating Muslims in Iran.

The Islam haters constantly talk about crimes done to Iranians in the name of Islam, but you never hear them protesting the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Muslims by Christians over the last two decades alone: 350,000 in Serbia, 500,000 Iraq children during the 1990s; at least 250,000 Iraqis (by official statistics) and more probably 1,000,000 Iraqis as a result of the crusade of the Christian, born again, George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq; at least 150,000 Afghans and counting.......

Hold your head up. Be strong. The strength of your conviction is the one thing that the Islam haters do not have, regardless of whatever claim they make.

Thirty years worth of crimes including but not limited to torture, rape, murder, and thievery conducted by the men of the cloth hasn’t answered your question?

I can categorically say that the entire non-muslim world wants to really understand the "real" story of Islam, it's true teachings and it's history so they can make sense out of their relationship with other muslim countries whose leaders espouse great animosity for anything and everything non-muslim.

Who better to inform us about this religion than a devout and proud muslim like yourself.

I am very glad you brought up this issue. This is a deeply rooted problem. I can only mention a few words but it is really a book.

There are a lot of israeli supporters, so called 'true Iranians', on this site which like to rant about democracy but themselves do not follow it. IRI has become an excuse to hate and bash muslems. This is more of an international racial activity. One of these site user is called amil or something like that. He thinks he is very democratic but this is only his own view. He wants to save Iran from the hands of arabs but himself is not much different from a fanatic arab. What this site user and the rest of his type do not know MAYBE all this abnormal so called islamic activities around the world started because of their own zion masters. As you may have heard there are a lot of older generaion of Iranian muslems who say the islam they know is different from the one IRI is broadcasting. The reason is that a lot of these officials in Iran are ROHANY NAMA. They are not man enough to confess they have another religion but they only look islamic. Their main task is to damage islam and Iran's reputation and regretfully they are doing well in that. Now it has become a joke in media when someone mentions islam is religion of peace.

These 'true Iranians' blame everyone for troubles in Iran from god to the smallest creatures except for israel. Every government has or had a hand in Iran except one country, of course.

Another point a lot of so called 'true Iranians' do not appreciate. Iran will always be an islamic country. This is because majority of Iranians prefer this religion no matter what the opposition says. This has nothing to do with IRI being there or not.

Listen, I respect you and admire your candor, in a truly sincere way. I hate myself for having hurt your feelings. I promise, I will never personally insult you ever again!

As for the zany zionist bashing zulfiqar, who thinks every one and every occurence near and far, including your morning dragon breath, is a neo-con conspiracy (read: Jewish conspiracy), I think he probably needs to increase his meds.

Just a suggestion.

Here's a sample of his deranged mind, "But rest assured that this place and its assorted actors are being intently watched, not so much by the regime in Iran who everyone detests, but international watchdog organizations and groups who are out to expose (and so to bring down) the self-serving political opportunism and interests of the aforementioned."

I rest my case.

by Anonymous8 on

you SAY you don't hate, but you keep making hateful and deragatory comments and keep bashing islam. why? **************      Desperate Annonymous8

by Sassan Jahangir on

Truly, how desperate are you at this late hour? Have you ever heard a Christian bring up the Renaissance or the Age of Englightenment as somehow a product of Christianity?

I mean, just how moronic is that? How did the Bible give us the Age of Enlightenment or Thomas Edison's electric light bulb? And how did the pages of the Quran produce Algebra?

Are you starting to see how ridiculous this line of thinking really is?

What the hell does a bedouin belief system, borne out of the sands of Arabia, have to do with scientic accomplishments? Do you have any idea what a tootee you sound like, repeating the same old line about "Islamic" science as if that would somehow elevate Islam to the level of an intellectual, progressive religion?

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Almost ALL of the scientific accomplishements under the age of Islam were carried out by IRANIANS, and it was all accomplished IN SPITE of Islam, IN SPITE of the religious persecutions, IN SPITE of its fascist ideology, lest we forget how men like Rumi (molana) were persecuted throughout their lives by Islamic fanatics and often ended up dying in foreign lands, present-day Turkey in the case of Rumi.

Islam had nothing to do with any scientific accomplishements in the greater middle east!  Zero! Stop reaching! It smacks of desperation!

vildemose -- thank you for your support.

Anonymous8 -- you really are working with a dimly-lit cranium, aren't you? You write, "just replace what Sassan and some other islamophobes say about islam with about "jews" or "blacks" or anything, you could probably be arrested if you say it in public."

Please, think before you write -- (you think you have the brain capacity to do that? Please surprise me!) -- since when did Islam become synonymous with a "race?"

Yes, if I verbally assault black people, I probably would get arrested, if not physically attacked as a racist. But Islam is not a race, so why would you accuse me of being a racist?

And for the record,

by Sassan Jahangir on

I don't "hate" Jews. When did it become all about "hating" when trying to get to the truth? If I tell the truth about the origins of Islam, being written by 3 Jews and one of us, I suddenly become labeled as a Jew-hater.

That's nonsense.

I don't "hate" muslims -- I pity their monumental ignorance. I pity the fact that their blind love for an Arab cult has eroded my beloved nation's identity. I pity the fact that so many Iranians blindly pay lip-service to the religion of our hereditary rapists.

I pity muslims for their abject ignorance, but I don't hate them. So stop trying to belittle my point of view by labeling me as a "hate" monger. I know why muslims do this, as a form of misdirection, to divert attention away from Islam's barbaity and instead focus on assailing my character (as a "hater") so as to diminish and derail my underlying message, which is unmercilessly, but deservedly, against Islam.

Thank you. Sounds very interesting, and very prophetic, I'm sorry to say!

I wonder how many muslims are aware that Islam was the handiwork of a bunch of seriously ambitious Jews, who after their humiliating encounter with Jesus, had to come up with a new religion so as to stem the tide of Chrisitanity, even if it meant through massive violence.

Those crafty Jews! They're so good at spinning fantastic stories. Is it any wonder that Hollywood is owned by Jews, who're universally accepted as masters of make-belief.

What would muslims think if they knew that they're actually practicing aJewish sect, called Islam, written by 3 Jews and one of us, Salman Farsi?

If only they knew the origins of their beloved Islam. If only they would not have the irrational fear of being turned into a piece of stone by Allah, they would perhaps finally know the real truth about Islam, and even then, sadly, the gitdouns of the world would probably continue with their heads buried DEEP in the sands of Arabia.

Sad.

Good old Haji Pino-Q

by Sassan Jahangir on

is back to his deceptive ways, spinning his muslim mojo, trying to prove, yet again, that his bedouin balderdash and desert fairytales are just like the other two semetic religions we free-thinking humans have been eternally cursed with.

The desperately seeking and confused Haji pontificates from his recently renovated mud-hut in Islamabad: "Congratulations! You finally admit that Islam is just like any other religion. I didn't think you had it in you."

Dear sweet, Haji, step away from your lovely concubines for a second and put down the hashish cookies, you're having way too much fun. I never said that Islam is just like any other religion -- in fact, the Quran is by far, the most lethal, most clever and ambitious war manifesto every penned by human beings.

Islam was the last word of a bunch of ambitious Jews, who after their embarrasing encounter with sonny Jesus, had to come up with a new religion so as to stem the tide of Chrisitanity, even if it meant through massive violence.

And they got their wish in "Islam," a religion that was written by 3 Jews and one of us, Salman Farsi, the first and by far the most wicked traitor to the Iranian culture. I guess if I were you, I, too, would be ashamed of practicing a Jewish sect like Islam, which is almost a carbon copy of Judaism itself, what with its mandatory circumsicion, taboo against pork, etc.

Getting back to what I said earlier -- that passive Iranian Muslims are not truly "muslim" per se, as they've never cracked open a Quran and don't really know what they are paying credence to -- I guess you may say the same thing about Christians and Jews -- it's an indictment on the wanning importance of religion in today's world (only 2% of Christians in Europe go to church every Sunday).

Yes, people are the same all over, HOWEVER, that doesn't mean Islam, as a bloody bedouin belief system, is the same as Christianity, post reformation. Far from it! Jesus stood for peace, whereas Muhammad, Ali, Hussein and the rest of the swordsman warriors of Islam, promoted and practiced vengeance and war.

What a wonderful legacy Muhammad has left for the Islamic world. Is it any wonder any time a non-muslim says one bad word about Islam, he gets his throat slit open. I can say as many bad things about Christianity in America, in public, and nine times out of ten, no Christian would would bother to blink. If I said the same incindiary things about Islam, I would have to go into the witness protection program.

Enough said.

As someone who has no respect for Islam or any other religion for that matter, I respect you and people like you. You have every RIGHT to believe what you want to believe in, as long as you as a person do not hurt or impinge on my rights to believe what I choose to believe in.

I am very sorry that we as a society still have a such a long way to go when it comes to conducting a civilised debate. It breaks my heart, because most of us on this site have been living in democracies for decades, yet some seem to have not learned anything. I am sorry to see my compatriots hurt each other like this with their venomous words.
