F*** the MEK I hate them with a passion. Don't go there or you will loose. There may be a solution for IRR but is will not be MKE. There are thse options for the MEK:

• Dissolution and reintegration of rank and file into Iran or asylum.
• Destruction by Iraqi military by the end of this year.
• Being a pain and hated  forever by Iranian people.

The one viable option is the first. I want to see Maryam and Masoud Rajavi brought to court in Iran post IRI. In a real justice system with an honest judge aka Davar  NOT ghazi.

Buying and selling gold coins is legal in Iran, the government does not hold a monopoloy on a single "gold currency". Yes, the government issues "bahare azadi" gold coins but those arent the only gold coins on the market.

you can walk into shiraz bazar and buy a khomini,motahari or any other gold coin that is not issued by the gov.

I did listen carefully. However, in a country under the rule of Islamists where everything else is fake, it is funny for the regime to talk about anything being fake! Regime's lame argument is the similarity between the names of the banks and the coins' images of the symbols. After popularizing the term, "Taaghoot" whose image replaced the Shah's on gold coins. Aren't "fake" coins with Khomeini's image being made in the free market? Why not ban them, as well?

I'll give the akhunds the benefit of the doubt but why if the coins were engraved with pictures of Mecca, Khomeini,  Imam Ali or the word Allah, then what would they be confiscated and melted?

There is no other way. There is no perfect regime change but I for one do not want to miss the window of opportunity to sort out this evil regime. Either we take a risk or stop complaining and accept that we have lost our motherland forever. If you do not sort out this regime now - even if it is the false pretext of the Islamic Republic having 'nuclear bomb' then so be it. If you fail to do anything about it now then this regime will continue to kill at the rate of 8 per hour, rape, murder, torture, lay waste to its landscape, cut down forrests, pollute, destroy Iran's pre-Islamic heritage, enforce greater social restriction and further Islamitize the entire culture and legal code of Iran so that 'Persia' or the 'Achaemenids' will forever be gone. This is not an exaggeration.

Either do somethign about it or do not complain. You will never  find the perfect solution.

Hate to say it, BUT

they are not banning the coins because of them bearing Persian icons.  If you listen to the report, it says that the central bank has a problem with them because they are round, identified as gold coins, and bear other similarities to the official gold coins, which are under the exclusive jurisdiction of the central bank.  They are not banning gold items with Persian symbols on them.  So, one can put Cyrus' image on a sqaure shaped piece of gold and still sell it.  

Not that the IR gives a shit about Iran's pre-Islam history, or that it is for it.  It's just that in this specific case, one has to be accurate.

Well, the reason for rejecting the coins was that it was done outside the banking system. Of course I would not think that IRI would release anything with picture of someone that actually served Iran, but that is another topic.

Rooted culture and language.   I can understand why they want to ban "Now Rooz,"  New Day is a Celebration of the Monarchy of Iran, as explained in the Shah Name and I'm sure that is a little detail that doesn't quite fit with their current Islamic Republic of Idiocy. Going against the images on coins is a very islamic response also.
