by KingReza on Thu Dec 16, 2010 03:15 PM PSTThis is democracy at work. I don't believe in Hossien or Hassan or whoever else who died 1400 years ago. However the fact that people can easily gather and peacefully practice their democratic right is beautiful.
Not Surprising Cause Unlike France British Democracy derives
by Darius Kadivar on Thu Dec 16, 2010 03:24 PM PSTFirst and Foremost From Religious Tolerance and Not Secular Principles as in France, where such a demonstration would trigger controversy not to say it would be impossible to hold it here.
As such this makes Great Britain as a matter of fact the Oldest Democracy in the World so to speak even prior to the US and France:
RESTORATION: Britain's 'Glorious Revolution' of 1688 and the 'Bill of Rights'
In fact All the Democratic principles and values which appeared subsequently in so called democratic Republics (Secular or Not) and were hailed as "Universal", actually First appeared as political requirements which crystallized around the principles of tolerance within the British Parliamentary system and hence protected by the Royal Institution. For contrary to popular Belief as much as Britain is a Democracy it does not have a written Constitution per se contrary to other European nations ( be them Monarchy or Republic)
HISTORY FORUM: How Truly Democratic is The British Monarchy ?
This originality of the British System explains why French Enlightment Philosophers like Voltaire who were anything but religious were admirative of the British Political system:

Which they hoped but failed to implement in France ...

So Contrary to what this Olagh Sargord ( who often boasts about his academic credentials but fails to notice what any genuine student in history wouldn't ) is saying this is not the result of reversed Colonialism but simply a direct consequence of the British Political System for at least the past 400 years ...
Which for better or for worse equally has it's advantages and disadvantages ...

Just a note
by masoudA on Thu Dec 16, 2010 02:12 PM PSTMost these people have been planed into London by IR - they are not Iranians - just IR payrolled. Find out who grants them UK visas and how - and you shall find the core of the problem.
BTW - these are pretty much some of the same groups who wear masks and beat up people in the Streets of Tehran. Notice the different groups of Afghans, Bahrain, Turkman,...... they are shipped around as needed.
Ignorance in UK
by Amir19 on Thu Dec 16, 2010 01:57 PM PSTDr. Ali Shariati has a saying that I like very much. Reffering to the masses of Iranian people who beat themselve and cry during the Ashoora in Iran, he Said "I am at Ah to see people who are under tyrany themselves, are crying for Hossein who lived as a free man". The only True Shia and lover of Hossein are the ones who are condeming what the current Yazid (Khameni) is doing in Iran. The rest is good for Abgoosht e Nazri.
Sargord they are on a same payroll as you buddy!

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 16, 2010 01:43 PM PSTThese 'loons' have been granted every concession you can thing of and they still have a chip on their shoulder. The UK is full of Muslim schools;Halall meat is served in schools and hospitals; employers are sued for the slightest offence to their religion; cafes are forced to shut down because the smell of bacon offends them; council tenants are asked to remove statues of pigs on the windowsill of their own homes; they are given time to prayer on Fridays and can take religious days off such as Ramadon; they now have shopping centres with Islamic squat toilets; they have separate swimming pool for men and women because of the Islamic segragation laws; they have Islamic banking and can practise Shariah law and all the while they want more and more and still blow themsleves on the underground!
The UK shouLD withdraw from Iraq sooner rather than later and so it will give these animals no further room for grievance.
Learn from France; They won't otlerate any of this crap in public. Once you tell them a NO means NO they get use to it! And they have!

And I wonder if Allah wants to pay for their keep, because there is no reason whatsoever for the predominantly secular British taxpayer to subsidize the lunatics of all creeds.
I have no qualms in contributing to that funny lot who tried to create Star Wars characters into a religion a few years ago. At least they were fun!

Just bunch of talk
by Amir19 on Thu Dec 16, 2010 01:43 PM PSTAll these people (mostly Arabs) have no idea what Islam is all about. Shieism is not much different from idol worshiping because only in Shia sect, people are encauraged to worship saints and prophets and that is why in all cities in Iran, masses of ignorant people rather than asking God Alone for help and forgiveness they go to dead Imam's tomb and ask them for help. If they could help anyone they would have helped themselves during the time they were alive. True Islam has nothing to do with Shia and Sunni. After all would one say, Prophet Muhammad was Shia or Suni? He was just a Muslim (Submitter) nothing else.
Wow, there's a lot of 'em.
by Sargord Pirouz on Thu Dec 16, 2010 01:43 PM PSTWow, there's a lot of 'em.
It's sort of a reverse-effect of colonialism. That and the potential of UK's public transportation system to mobilize.
I wonder how this will look in 20, 40 years. It sure doesn't look like it will be going away soon. To the contrary, as a matter of fact.

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 16, 2010 01:32 PM PSTI am glad you mentioned that they are so-called Iranians. By celebrating this barbaric Tazi ritual they have negated their nationality. As far as I am concerned they are biological plasticine. I am indifferent to their existence - they are like a cockroach or a rodent. Until they educate themselves again I can never embrace these people.
Imagine a British child having to see these celebrations? Iranian children have been pschologically traumatised by these rituals of death, martyrdom, grown men crying and self-beating. The stupid government in Britain allows them to celebrate this crap.
They are horrible...Horrible.....HORRIBLE people.

by Dirty Angel on Thu Dec 16, 2010 01:35 PM PSTWhilst I share your repulsion, it's best that they prance around like the lunatics that they are, rather than making the local population "understand" them, by bombing buses.
I'd rather have all the loons out in the open, otherwise they go underground and can cause by far more damage.

I am absolutely repulsed at
by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:45 PM PSTI am absolutely repulsed at watching this video. The Ashura celebrations are synonmous with the Islamic Repubic. To think that this death cult has been imported to the streets of London is offensive to all people living in this country especially young children. If the British government has any sense they would stop these celebrations, arrests its organisers and throw them into prison. Ashura celebrations should be outlawed and Shia organsations should be disbanded.
I urge Prime Minister David Cameron to arrest people who participate in these ugly celebrations in future under the Public Order Act.
Death to the Islamic Republic. Free Iran from Islam.

JJ, boro khodet yad begir democracy aslan chi hast
by Dirty Angel on Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:11 PM PSTFreedom of religious expression, fine by me, - NOT PRIVILEGES - but the intolerance of most of these people is vile - you ought to hear what they say about blacks and homosexuals and "the natives", AND their nice religious freedom has created a parallel legal system within the EU under which any young Muslim, Catholic, Jewish or whatever girl can suffer greatly and I'm not allowed to say in public that they are outright, viscious lunatics!?!
I might offend their precious feelings! With a cartoon!
Back to Karbala with them where they'll feel their heart at home! I do NOT want to know! I want to be completely ignorant of their trash! Everyday, some religious freak event around. I do NOT wish to spend my days discussing something as retarded as a headscarf or Catholic condoms !
I'm busy! And truly sick to death of religious lunatics.
Just imagine if I pranced around like them in Hyde Park? They'd shlep me off within seconds as a severely mental ASBO case and throw away the luny bin key.
It's all about big business and has zilch to do with democracy.

by masoudA on Thu Dec 16, 2010 11:46 AM PSTMe too - it's a smile that I am not happy about. Reminds me of the old saying: Raising Snakes in your Sleeve...
JJ - I liked your comment - but how far should the free world give in the name of democracy? Would you allow ISlamists to cut their heads in public? Would you let them behead animals in public? I consider both of those acts or terrorizing the population. At some point we need to put the ffet down - I don't know about Europe - but patience are running very thin here in America - and rightfuly so.
