Earthquakes are 'Boobquakes' - Hojjat ol-eslam Sediqi or God's revenge on people "who act kind of gay."- Reverend Pat Robertson

Tens of millions of people from Georgia to Canada were jolted Tuesday by the strongest earthquake to strike the East Coast since World War II. Three weeks before the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, office workers poured out of New York skyscrapers and the Pentagon and were  relieved it was nothing more menacing than an act of providence. The White House and Capitol were partly evacuated. The quake registered magnitude 5.8. it was mild by  West Coast standards, but unsettled some of the nation's biggest population centers in the East Coast which are not accustomed to such fury of earth strata.

I have been reading some intriguing and  fascinating reports from 'devout' men calling Earthquakes as fury of 'Gods or Allah' on mankind. Reverend Pat Robertson said the earthquake in Haiti was caused because the Haitians made a pact with the Devil and Napoleon. Hojjat ol-eslam Kazem Sediqi pronounced these natural recurring disasters as wrath of Gods. Hojjat ol-eslam believes that women who do not dress modestly lead young men astray and spread adultery in society that increases earthquakes.

Man is fearful of rage of Gods; this fear of providence is exploited by clergy and is not something new. After the 1755 Lisbon earthquake killed 60,000, “Priests roved around the ruins, selecting at random those they believed guilty of heresy and thus to blame for annoying the Divine, who had then ordered up the disaster. The priests had them hanged on the spot.” The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa in what is now Indonesia fuelled the growth of an extremist strain of Islam, bent on purging society of impurities displeasing to God.

These are/were no boobquakes; these are 'Ring of Fires' playing their settling role.  Hojjat ol-eslam Sediqi, may wish to know that we are prisoners of our birth. The tectonic plate movements are happening; shall happen and these phenomenon are geological where 'Gods' after creating us are now resting to see how their works are cooling down. The hands of Gods are tied now, the internal forces of the earth crust have taken over. The Pacific Ring of Fire is home to 452 volcanoes in total — that's 75 percent of the world's active and dormant volcanoes. Earthquakes along that fault can affect the rest of the world.

When a mind is devoid of logic and reason and science, its only refuge is religion. For Hojjat ol-eslam Sediqi ''There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam's moral codes." Iranian mullahs think that women should stick to strict codes of modesty to protect themselves and the world from being buried under the rubble. Modesty will probably ensure that earth’s tectonic movements will stop. Mr Sediqi delivered a televised sermon at the Tehran University campus mosque on the need for a "general repentance" by Iranians when he warned of a "prevalence of degeneracy". In his view the earth reawakens from slumber when women wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously and this reawakening of earth causes big earthquakes. Tens of thousands of people have died in Iran earthquakes in the last decade. Global plate tectonic movement cause Earthquakes not degeneracy of morals.

Disasters seem to be never-ending, the Japanese North East big one, the Sumatran tsunami to hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Are we reaching the end of an era of tranquil nature that we were acquainted with? Have our moral turpitude and tryst with pleasures finally taken a toll on our planet? For Iranian cleric to find that women not modestly dressed create earthquakes is so archaic. , The mullahs do not allow women to dress any way but modestly, and they have had a multitude of devastating earthquakes there in recent years. Earthquakes has nothing to do with how women dress or morality of the society.

Earthquakes are caused by movement of the Earth's tectonic plates and how much of a cleavage is seen plays a very little role. It is estimated that around 500,000 earthquakes occur each year, detectable with current instrumentation. About 100,000 of these can be felt. Minor earthquakes occur nearly constantly around the world in places like California and Alaska in the U.S., as well as in Guatemala, Chile, Peru, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, the Azores in Portugal, Turkey, New Zealand, Greece, Italy, and Japan, but earthquakes can occur almost anywhere, including New York City, London, and Australia. No one is out to punish us. We live in a very benevolent environment. The laws of nature are secular and uniform. Understanding the phenomena that lead to disasters can help us relax. Interpreting the disasters in the wrong way can make us lose hope. And without hope one cannot build a future.

I think 'Religion' has been rightly called the opium of masses by Marx. Unquestionably, religious-based prejudices have led to disintegration and division of man over our short conscious history. The Indian Ocean earthquake on December 26, 2004, generated a tsunami that killed approximately 275,000 people, making it one of the deadliest disasters in modern history.

Earthquakes typically happen along faults, which are breaks in the rocky plates of the Earth's crust. These faults build up strain over the years as two plates butt heads. The 5.9 earthquake that hit the U.S. today at around 1:55 p.m. EST, reportedly originating from Mineral, Va., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake, which was 3.7 miles deep according to the USGS, was felt across the country, from Washington, D.C. and New York City to North Carolina.

The ever-increasing connectivity has turned our planet into a huge ‘neighbourhood’. It has been just more than a century since we were able to conquer distance. The last two decades have been all about global togetherness in terrestrial space; our ‘village’ has shaped up so fast that our minds are unable to cope with its new realities. Pleasures and pains of the entire world have become our own. We tend to learn about disasters and their gory details far more minutely than we did ever before.

According to Red Cross, 901,177 people died in natural disasters between 1995 and 2004, compared with 643,418 in the previous decade. It looks like things have gone bad. But other factors could be responsible for this high figure. For example, on July 27, 1976, China had officially declared that 255,000 people killed in an earthquake in its Tangshan region which measured 7.5 on the Richter scale. Independently, the death toll was estimated at 655,000. Communist regimes hardly ever reported figures for famines and other natural disasters. The increased openness has made available more information that is helpful in understanding disasters and fashioning responses accordingly.

We live in a complex environment that we can partially control. Recent analysis of South African rocks has revealed that 251 million years ago rivers suddenly became clogged with sediments. It is believed that a huge comet or asteroid walloped earth to cause the mass die-off at the end of the Permian Period and dawn of the Triassic.

The myth of ‘overpopulation’ has been with us since Malthus. Today, we have crossed the threshold of malnutrition; we die not because of lack of food but because of poor distribution and efforts to maintain price stability at the cost of human lives.Tsunamis, hurricanes and earthquakes are nothing new. In the North Atlantic Ocean, the Storegga Slides, a series of sudden underwater land movements over tens of thousands of years, caused tsunamis and mega tsunamis across a wide area. Between 1650 BC and 1600 BC (the date is still debated), the volcanic Greek island Santorini erupted, causing a 100-150 metre high tsunami that devastated the north coast of Crete, 70 kilometres away.

I always look at most pessimist ‘environmental reports’ with a view that 'the glass is half full' more often than not; it is a fact that recuperation is better than destructiveness. The ultimate truth is that evolution is based on survival of the fittest – it started with singularity and will finish with singularity, the remaining in-between is dominated by logic, reason and effort. Human race has to find answers to disasters; in the dinky little existence of over 10,000 years of known history we have discovered one thing that is the most important, i.e., that we are just at the cusp of a major bout of new knowledge, yet this realisation has given us tools of not being shocked by anything. All this mass epidemic news is exaggerated response of a very hypochondriac cynical mankind. It appears as if we have become a sickening collection of killjoys.

The Universe is complex, so why should we dumb down our conversations. We live in a world of staggering complexity, a world poised at a dangerous turning point with science and technology living at the root of both our problems and our possibilities. And yet, in this poised world and at this critical moment, our leaders speak to us as if we were minors.

Mankind will go from strength to strength; our survival is a story of victory over adversary. Conceivably there are so many anxieties if you really want to add one more bad news in addition to viruses and bombs, here’s the bad news. According to the calculations, the Solar System will be passing through the galactic plane in the near future, and should see an increased risk of impact. Our risk of impact could increase 10-fold. In fact, one of these high points of comet activity would have been 65 million years - the same time that an asteroid strike wiped out the dinosaurs.

Some can argue that exaggeration is a process that expedites healing and action ('When the fire department puts out your house do you claim that since it is out the house would have never burnt down in the first place?') Preparation is important but to embellish our inability to respond to ruin does not help. Life is about moderation and measured appropriate timely response to effective threats without blowing or killing ourselves up with nameless fears. The Earthquakes and natural disasters have no co relationship with how Iranian women are dressing up, let them look pleasant and appealing. Allah and all the Gods are quite happy the way world is progressing along on the path of becoming a global village.

Reverend Robertson and Hojjat ol-eslam Sediqi wierd bedfellows!

by Iqbal Latif on

Evangelist Pat Robertson goes one up in today’s broadcast of his 700 Club program by saying that mild East Coast earthquake was God’s revenge on people “who act kind of gay.”

“All across the Eastern seaboard, there are men who get manicures, wear designer eyewear and know about thread counts,” Rev. Robertson. “God finds this somewhat gay-like behavior confusing, and He responded by getting mildly peeved.”

'God and Allah are one' when passion of humans are to be curtailed. Evangelist Pat Robertson and Hojjat ol-eslam Kazem Sediqi are eccentric and wierd bedfellows, combined in a fanatic passion to curb human sexual inclinations. Both claim to derive their powers from God/Allah. No amount of moral/ religious legislation can change the problems of men, they need to discover themselves and act as a gentlemen this is the best 'we' can do. Liberty for all is a goal we all cherish.

Revolutions are never born out of barren womb of banal ideology!

by Iqbal Latif on

@But I am not here to discuss religion, science, God, etc because i am not here to clean up the mess that stupid moron mullahs have created and i do care less .

Change in life and Revolutions are never born out of barren wombs of banal ideology. Not that I don't believe in anything, rather I believe too much in people who are considered as heretics; as a keen student of similarities between American and French revolution, I like Thomas Paine and his writings.

Imagine the thoughts of most revolutionary and radical of the US’s founding fathers: Thomas Paine; the de-facto father of American and French revolution being beamed live across the globe in 1772. The revolutions would have been at far faster pace less bloodier too. Paine released his treatise Common Sense in January of 1776, John Adams wrote, “Without the pen of the author of Common Sense, the sword of Washington would have been raised in vain.” He declared, the king and Great Britain simply used Americans for profit. Paine added dryly, “What at first was plunder assumed the softer name of ‘revenue.’

” Agrarian Justice. presents Paine’s view of what is meant by a “just society.” He advocated for ownership of all farmland by the entire population of a nation, since land was “the common property of the human race.” He pinpointed what he considered true evil in the world: the ownership of the majority of assets by the elite. “…the landed monopoly that began with [farming] has produced the greatest evil. It has dispossessed more than half the inhabitants of every nation of their natural inheritance.”

“These are the times that try men’s souls…Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

In The Rights of Man, Paine wrote: “When I contemplate the natural dignity of man; when I feel (for Nature has not been kind enough to me to blunt my feelings) for the honor and happiness of its character, I become irritated at the attempt to govern mankind by force and fraud, as if they were all knaves and fools, and can scarcely avoid disgust at those who are thus imposed upon.”

Paine wrote in The Age of Reason. It presented a rejection of Christianity, outlining the corruption in the various Christian churches and damning all of them for attempting to grab political power. When Paine died in Greenwich Village in 1809, the New York Citizen wrote an editorial that said, “He had lived long, did some good, and much harm.” Six people went to his funeral. His revolutionary views do not fit neatly into the conservative idea of “patriotism.”

Even after 100 years of Paine as true vicitms of ideology Iran had a face off with 'Cultish Khomeinism;' on the day that he appointed interim prime minister on February 4, 1979 he clearly explained Islamic absolutism by stating:

Through the guardianship [Velayat] that I have from the holy lawgiver [the Prophet], I hereby pronounce Bazargan as the Ruler, and since I have appointed him, he must be obeyed. The nation must obey him. This is not an ordinary government. It is a government based on the sharia. Opposing this government means opposing the sharia of Islam ... Revolt against God's government is a revolt against God. Revolt against God is blasphemy.

Cultish Khomeinism in Iran today one example of governing cradle of mankind by 'force and fraud,' it is a plunder and 'Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered.' Hojjat ol-eslam Kazem Sediqi statements are just extension of rampant self-righteousness of thought process within the society.

Men are obsessed ! No - men are born ''sexually handicapped! ''

by Iqbal Latif on

@Iqbal , You are wrong blaming it all on religion.

(Source:Tared Diamond, The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond.)

I am not blaming anything on religion only the agent provocateurs. We as Hunter-gatherers have lived the longest-lasting life style in human history, without ideology and without religion, it is only with civilisation in last 10,000 that we created our prophets.

If the history of the human race began at midnight, then we would now be almost at the end of our first day. We lived as hunter-gatherers without guidance or prophets for nearly the whole of that day, from midnight through dawn, noon, and sunset. Finally, at 11:54 p. m. we adopted signs of God and almighty. Don't you think it is bizarre?

Creator most likely has been very busy for last three thousand years, sorrowfully enough through the most formative age of man the creator left it to the man alone to evolve as Hunter gatherer. Once this pitiful man became civilised the creator manifested itself in full glory. It is little too much to explain plausibly. God will have difficult time maintaining a narration of all the sexual inclinations of 7 billion of us.

There is no one better qualified than Jared Diamond—renowned expert in the fields of physiology and evolutionary biology and award-winning author—to explain the evolutionary forces that operated on our ancestors to make us sexually different. With wit and a wealth of fascinating examples, he explains how our sexuality has been as crucial as our large brains and upright posture in our rise to human status. The vicegerents of almighty on this earth who have made faith a commodity, by either selling atonement or selling a palace in heaven with 70 houries.

Advising mankind what to wear, how to handle our predictable libidos according to the scriptures is gross. Strangely enough this moral legislation of our behaviour has only evolved since 10,000 years ago as we grew up a social structure. ''Astronomy taught us that our earth isn't the center of the universe but merely one of billions of heavenly bodies. From biology we learned that we weren't specially created by God but evolved along with millions of other species.

For most of our history we supported ourselves by hunting and gathering: we hunted wild animals and foraged for wild plants, our life was nasty, brutish, and short. Since no food is grown and little is stored, there is (in this view) no respite from the struggle that starts anew each day to find wild foods and avoid starving. Our escape from this misery was facilitated only 10,000 years ago, when in different parts of the world people began to domesticate plants and animals.

The agricultural revolution spread until today it's nearly universal and few tribes of hunter-gatherers survive.'' Sex is the part of our mammal act; this does not need the guidance of an omnipotent instructions; does a dog or doplhin needs handbook or legislation? ''To us humans the sex lives of many animals seem weird. In fact, by comparison with all the other animals, we are the ones with the weird sex lives. How did that come to be? Just count our bizarre ways.

We are the only social species to insist on carrying out sex privately. (We as humans are equipped with self respecting reservations.) Stranger yet, we have sex at any time, even when the female can’t be fertilized (for example, because she is already pregnant, post-menopausal, or between fertile cycles). A human female doesn’t know her precise time of fertility and certainly doesn’t advertise it to human males by the striking color changes, smells, and sounds used by other female mammals. Why do we differ so radically in these and other important aspects of our sexuality from our closest ancestor, the apes?

Why does the human female, virtually alone among mammals go through menopause? Why does the human male stand out as one of the few mammals to stay (often or usually) with the female he impregnates, to help raise the children that he sired? Why is the human penis so unnecessarily large? ''

I will answer this rationally later with the second part of your question. No one tells the horniest of Chimps( after all we are The Third Chimpanzee: The Evolution and Future of the Human Animal a wide-ranging book by Jared Diamond, professor of geography and physiology) at how to mate and when to mate; so does humans beings should not be told and their conduct legislated, we have ingrained admiration for order.

Taxonomically chimps and humans are closer than chimp and gorillas; chimps and humans genes differ by just 1.6%, whereas chimp and gorillas differ by 2.3%. Thus the chimp's closest relatives are not the other apes with which it is classed, but the human. Chimps are not governed by ideology and hence act the way they should; we have ‘consciousness’ therefore protected by design to act constructively and hide our act, we are humans and we are part of greater human kind we are destined to construct and build whatever whichever way we can. The issue is that when ideological underpinning comes into play our rational thinking goes out of window.

@Let us face it is MEN who are obsessed with SEX not religion .....

Please don't blame MEN they are handicapped and born with a problem. It is a inherent design defect, Men are designed promiscuous. Prisoners of their own' higher bandwidth,' men Penises have higher bandwidth than cable modems. 'The human genome is about 3,120,000,000 base pairs long, so half of that is in each spermatozoa -- 1,560,000,000 base pairs. number of sperm in a human ejaculation to be anywhere from 50 to 500 million.

I'm going to go with the number 200,000,000 sperm cells. Putting these together, the average amount of information per ejaculation is 1.560*109 * 2 bits * 2.00*108, which comes out to be 6.24*1017 bits. That's about 78,000 terabytes of data! As a basis of comparison, were the entire text content of the Library of Congress to be scanned and stored, it would only take up about 20 terabytes. If you figure that a male orgasm lasts five seconds, you get a transmission rate of 15,600 tb/s.

In comparison, an OC-96 line (like the ones that make up much of the backbone of the internet) can move .005 tb/s. Cable modems generally transmit somewhere around 1/5000th of that. With 200,000,000 sperm cells, it's safe to assume that every base pair from the father is in at least one sperm, so you're looking at a total bandwith of 156 Mb/s, which is faster than most LANs. '

'Modern physical anthropologists have studied the surprising differences among the genitalia of apes and men to a great extent. These scientists have identified two explanations for this mystery: species that copulate routinely need bigger testes; and promiscuous species in which several males mate frequently with one female need especially large testes (because the male that implants the most semen has the best chance of fertilizing the egg). This is called the Theory of Testis Size.'

Human sex is most peculiar in not being a social activity. We may share 98.8 percent of our genes with chimps and almost as many with gorillas; but when it comes to matters reproductive we are very different from either.

The evolution of human sexuality is around the concept that sex is fun: ''Humans copulate more often than gorillas and orangutans but less often than chimpanzees, and typically, men are not in sperm competition to fertilize a female. This explains our medium-sized testes. The testes of a 450-pound gorilla would dwarf the size of our own, but in actuality, this is completely untrue. Out of all the great apes (chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans), gorillas and orangutans have the smallest testes. But the 100-pound chimpanzee makes our 1.5 ounce testes look like marbles compared to their own which are approximately 4 ounces. How can this be so?

A female gorilla is only receptive for a couple of days a month, and after she becomes pregnant and gives birth, she will not resume sexual activity for another three to four years. Because of this, a male gorilla experiences sex very rarely, and his tiny testes are more than enough to meet those demands. The sex life of a male orangutan is only slightly more demanding. Consequently, the orangutans testes are slightly larger than those of the gorilla.

Now on the other hand, chimpanzees are a very promiscuous species. The male chimpanzee has a chance to copulate almost daily, and usually, several male chimpanzees will copulate with the same female. It is necessary for the male chimpanzee to outdo other males in semen output in order to fertilize the promiscuous females. This explains their need for gigantic testes. Each species has big enough testes to do their job. Anything larger would divert energy from other tissues, and add more costs than benefits.''

No amount of moral/ religous legislation can change the problems of men, they need to discover themselves and act as a gentlemen this is the best 'we' can do.

Iqbal ,  You are wrong blaming it all on religion. Women have always been treated as sex object in every society regardless of the religion.... Look at the west and see how SEX sells ...

Let us face it is MEN who are obsessed with SEX not religion .....   and when you have MEN in power and in high level religion clergies then they will make the entire thing based on SEX as well...

But I am not here to discuss religion, science, God, etc  because i am not here to clean up the mess that stupid moron mullahs have created and i do care less . You have also brought up many good points in your article ..

Anyway, i would like to share with you a letter wrote by Satan to Pat Robinson ( another religious genius of our time) after he blamed people of Haiti and devil for that earthquake. Which is not only hilarious but also has some good points..

Dear Pat Robertson,

I know that you know that all press is good press, so I appreciate the shout-out. And you make God look like a big mean bully who kicks people when they are down, so I’m all over that action. But when you say that Haiti has made a pact with me, it is totally humiliating. I may be evil incarnate, but I’m no welcher. The way you put it, making a deal with me leaves folks desperate and impoverished. Sure, in the afterlife, but when I strike bargains with people, they first get something here on earth — glamour, beauty, talent, wealth, fame, glory, a golden fiddle. Those Haitians have nothing, and I mean nothing. And that was before the earthquake. Haven’t you seen “Crossroads”? Or “Damn Yankees”? If I had a thing going with Haiti, there’d be lots of banks, skyscrapers, SUVs, exclusive night clubs, Botox — that kind of thing. An 80 percent poverty rate is so not my style. Nothing against it — I’m just saying: Not how I roll. You’re doing great work, Pat, and I don’t want to clip your wings — just, come on, you’re making me look bad. And not the good kind of bad. Keep blaming God. That’s working. But leave me out of it, please. Or we may need to renegotiate your own contract.

Best,

Satan

Hojjat ol-eslam Sediqi victim of indoctrinated perversion!

by Iqbal Latif on

Why should women's body become the arena of interest where Sheikhs, Imams and Hajot-ul-Islams accentuate utmost interest? It is because of PERVERSION IN THEOCRACY is rampant.

Authority and identity of all Abrahamic religions is centered around over-obsessesion with sex. Undoubtedly zar, zamin, zan remain the heart of most of the major conflicts between men but allure and fascination with sex and death have consumed man from the beginning of times, those of us who accept this defenselessness are better than others who hide their pre-occupation behind walls of Godly injunctions.

It all started with the biblical myth of ‘Eve’ as the foundation of all temptations in Abrahamic faiths. Clergy realizes that incorporating venomous, lethal guilt and poisoned thoughts about ‘sex’ is the shortest way to manage the internal affairs of man eternally.

The total control of rituals of birth, sex and death are hallmarks of all religious society. Suppression of sex, abortion, abolition of contraception, denial of gay lesbian rights, limitation on stem-cell research are tools of modern day clergy in which Ayatollahs, Imams and Pope are partners in transgression of basis human rights, HIV/Aids kill two million die a year but condoms are prohibited for poor mothers.

Suppression of women is the key through which clergy hold down the 'importance of sex' as key element of human anticipated emotional behavior. Bastardisation of beauty and sex as devilish thoughts have destroyed the innate beauty inherent in the act of sex. Masculitnty and femininity of humankind is dictated by the natural instincts, yet clergy has over legislated on these relationships and taken control of natural flow of feminine inclinations to make them subservient to men demands.

One time putting them in veil and others making them weak; these fatwa’s are aimed at relegation of woman who has contracted a continuing marriage to a status of sexual slave; she must remain at his disposal for the fulfillment of any one of his desires, and may not refuse herself to him; it is all part of vicious control that religion allows. Women Saudi bloggers reflect the frustration of battling against an extremist male ideology that oppresses women by manipulating and twisting religious rhetoric to facilitate them in every possible way to serve men’s’ pleasures.

The interest below naval cavity of women is beyond any doubt very well documented. Christianity lost its control over women with movement of emancipation and renaissance that freed women from clutches of clerical orthodoxy but unfortunately so far Middle East remains inundated with perverted thoughts; the greatest of the Mullahs have shown great inclination to write comprehensively on the theme.

Saudi Sheiks have produced a number of fatwa’s allowing men to enjoy different types of sexual relationships ‘marriages’ seen by the majority of women as allowing men to take advantage of women by denying them the rights of married women according to Islamic Sharea’h. Tahrirolvasyleh is an Iranicised version of its Arabic title 'Tahrir al Wasilah', Khomeini's on fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence). It comes in two volumes and was written by Khomeini whilst he was in Turkey. Not only does this that the 'literary masterpiece of perverted minds' exist, but one can download a version from Tahrir.zip
