Islamic Republic
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sat Jul 30, 2011 02:48 PM PDTDoes *not* allow for the marriage of non Muslims to Muslims. Once before my divorce I wanted to get my marriage recognized by IRI. They made it very obvious she have to become a Muslim.
They gave me a set of names of people who would convert her in USA. Then perform an Islamic marriage and we would be recognized by IRI. My wife said no way and we did not do it. Just for the record so you would know it.

by salman farsi on Sat Jul 30, 2011 02:39 PM PDTYou make many erroneous assumtions and you come to a conclusion that suits your assumtions. I do not need to talk about my married life to satisfy you or any other but let me suffice it to say that she converted to Islam out of her free will and with no compulsion. She did not have to do so in order to marry me. Muslim men can marry Christian or Jewish women without them being converted to Islam. She did convert for the love of Allah first and second for me. And another wrong assumption of yours is that we tolrtate other Abrahamic faiths and other faiths and indeed I tolerate the atheiests but it seems the reverse is not true at least on this site.
Happy now?

by yolanda on Sat Jul 30, 2011 02:04 PM PDTHi! alman farsi,
You said that your wife was a Christian before your married her! I believe she does not mind that you are a Muslim......she did not try to convert you to Christianity.......my question is that why it is OK for you to remain a Muslim, but it is not OK for your wife to remain as a Christian? She changed her religion for the sake of you or for the sake of God? How come your wife can tolerate your Islam, but you can't tolerate her religion? Where is the equality here?

Power of deception for brother Salman
by Siavash300 on Sat Jul 30, 2011 12:25 PM PDTDear Brother,
Have you explained to your wife before she converted to Islam that The stoning of women is one of the more savage, and revealing aspects of Islam. This vicious punishment of women has been in Iran's recent history and hundreds of women of various ages have been and continue to be stoned to death throughout Iran by idea of Islam? I bet you didn't, otherwise she wouldn't convert. In your spare time brother, you may rent and show her the video of "not without my daughter". Hope she doesn't file for divorce after viewing the movie. BTW, I respect democracy and I never use any abusive language toward anybody.
Sincerely,
Siavash

this "conversion business" is big business
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Sat Jul 30, 2011 11:43 AM PDTon internet sites these days. And some seem to be gullible enough to get excited about them and draw conclusions about superiority of one religion to other "rival religion". The fact as observed by some friends here is that these religions all came from the same sad, baron region on earth and indeed are the same old superstitious tales re packaged and re told. For me at least, religion in all it's shapes and forms has been and shall remain the opium of the masses. I am looking forward to that inevitable day when we as human beings completely and decisively, using our power of logic and reason reject the whole concept of a supreme decision maker in favour of the power of our own human will and it's infinite potential. Only then we can start looking forward to a world free of superstition, poverty and injustice.

Women like this!
by Benyamin on Sat Jul 30, 2011 10:16 AM PDTThis woman is actually a "submissive" woman who "enjoys" being submissive or enjoys to submit to something. there are alot of them in the west that like to submit to something. It is good for them if the act of submission makes them happy! I am sure we have alot of them in Iran too.
That being said, these women are so selfish or dumb that don`t understand because of their "inner sexual needs" many other women that don`t want to submit or used and abused are also being forced by the ideas and shows like this as proof that many women in the west are infact craving to convert.
the IRI is not based on a free thinking idealogy but based on a very narrow, closed theology by which the basis of that idealogy works "only" if one "submits" to it. that is why we have "marja` taghleed" which litterally means a person who should be followed!!!!
The IRI is the biggest mass En-slavery in modern time. and whomever believes in it, in fact believes in slavery.

Shi'a converting to Catholicism
by Freethought111 on Sat Jul 30, 2011 06:25 AM PDTDo you all know the joke about the Shi'a brother who went to Europe and was converted to Catholicism? His hosts explain to him that at the end of the conversion ceremony it is required that all the lights of the room be turned off and then quickly turned back on again. So all the lights are turned off in the room and then quickly turned on again at which point our new convert exclaims, "Allahumma Salle Ala Muhammad va Ale Muhammad!"

Leila & Zahra's invitation to the virtues of the hejab
by maghshoosh on Fri Jul 29, 2011 11:58 PM PDTHere's the full exchange between the 2 ladies from Ahlulbayt TV:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYw2dbyg-p0&fmt=22
On the subject of hejab in general, I don't think it's mostly effective at what it purports to accomplish. Hejab is supposed to present women in a less seductive manner, so that they're not judged by their physical attributes in their interactions w/ men. But men who'd like to judge women's appearances, would do so just by looking at the face and make a guess at the rest of the physique based on the facial appearance. After all, on secular dating sites women often post only their head shots for prospective suitors to judge their beauty, and the covering of just the hair doesn't cover up all of a woman's beauty. For example, do the 2 women in the video really believe that no man will judge their physical appearance just b/c only their faces and hands are visible? Moreover, often times more hejab could increase physical appeal, sort of like loose-fitting or baggy outfits making chubby men more presentable than tight-fitting ones.
Similarly w/ ultra-orthodox Jewish women, who usually wear a wig after marriage to cover their natural hair, which may actually be shaven. A wig doesn't necessarily make one less physically appealing than one's natural hair. A truly effective hejab is the Taliban-style one w/ the full face covering (neqab), so that any basis for imagining the physical attributes of the woman is eliminated. Except that there's still the feminine voice, which should be disguised by a digital voice distorter or a portable Helium tank under the veil.

If people are really tolerant of each other, conversion is not necessary.....just accept people the way they are!
