According to Kurdish Human Rights Association this morning May 9th 2010 the Islamic Regime executed five (5) Kurdish prisoners four (4) of whom were political prisoners in the Evin Prison.

Those executed are:

1. Farzad Kamangar
2. Ali Heydariyan
3. Farhad Vakili
4. Ms. Shirin Alam-Hooli and Mehdi Eslamiyan
5. Mehdi Eslamiyan

It must be noted that Ms. Shirin Alam Hooli’s case was still in the process of appeal and no judgement had been rendered.

It is obvious that the Islmaic Regime has started a new wave of executions in order to instil fear and hopelessness among the Iranian people, this can only be a reflection of the Islamic Regime’s own fear and hopelessness in the face of Iranian Society’s fight for a free and democratic Iran.

Neither the lawyers or the families of these prisoners had been given any notice that the execution was to carried out this morning.

There will be a protest against the Islamic Regime, to condemn the recent wave of executions in Ottawa, Ontario, in front of the Iranian Embassy at 245 MetCalfe Street tomorrow May 10th 2010 from 12pm to 2pm. I sincerely hope all freedom loving people will join us to condemn the recent executions and the Islamic Regime as a whole.

Down with the Islamic Regime in Iran
Long Live Freedom in Iran.

About the convictions

by Gavazn on

Khalil Bahramian, Kamangar’s lawyer, said: ‘Nothing in Kamangar’s judicial files and records demonstrates any links to the charges brought against him.’

Bahramian, who was present during the closed-door court hearing, described it as ‘lasting no more than five minutes, with the Judge issuing his sentence without any explanation and then promptly leaving the room’. He added, I have seen absolutely zero evidence presented against Kamangar. In my forty years of legal profession, I have never witnessed such a prosecution.’”

2. “Khalil Bahramian, Kamangar’s attorney, in an interview before knowing about the execution said: ‘Mr. Kamangar and his interrogator told me that there are changes in the case and under review by the prosecutor and execution is out of the question. I inquired more than ten times and they told me the case is under review. But the intelligence officer had told Farzad that execution had been revoked.’ Later being notified of the execution after the fact, Bahramian said in an interview: ‘The rules call for notification of the lawyers on carrying out the death penalty. In case of two of my clients, Farzad Kamangar and Mehdi Eslamian, I was not notified at all.’”

3. “Mehdi Islamian’s brother was executed last year, convicted of cooperation with the Monarchist Group. Mehdi was convicted of giving financial aid to his brother before his arrest.”

Capital Punishment, Capital Fear

//www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/tehranbureau/2010/05/capital-punishment-capital-fear.html

It talks about the 5 people executed and has picture of Kamangar  with his class of children in a Kurdish village, he was also a poet and author.

Fereshteh Ghazi updates on alleged regime harassment of the family of Shirin Alamhouli, executed on Sunday . Alamhouli’s sister and mother are reportedly out on bail, but Ghazi says her grandfather, uncle, and cousin have now been arrested and are held in the Ministry of Intelligence. The family’s phone has been disconnected since yesterday., the house is surrounded, and a curfew is in place.

Nazila Fathi of The New York Times follows up this morning on her reporting of Sunday’s executions of five Iranians.

The centrepiece is an interview with Khalil Bahramian, lawyer for the three of the five slain prisoners. Bahramian said that authorities are refusing to release the bodies and asserted, in line with reports from the family, that the sister and mother of the executed Shirin Alamhouli, were arrested at their home in northwestern Iran. (They were later reportedly released on bail.) He also said the family was not aware of the execution until Monday afternoon.

Bahramian noted, “They [the authorities] even turned down my request to allow the families to be present while they are burying them [the executed].”

Fathi also draws from Rah-e-Sabz to report that Abdoljabar Karami, member of Parliament for Sanandaj, the capital of Iranian Kurdistan, was threatened by the provincial governor when he tried to stop the executions and was unable to secure the release of the bodies.

Human Rights Activists News Agency claims that authorities are trying to arrest members of the family of Farzad Kamangar.

Seed of the hatered

by MRX1 on

The seeds of the hatered IRI is growing by punishing the so called Ethinc minorities will come back and hunt the nation post IRI.  The whole thing does not look good. IF it does not end in civil war it will end up as an ethnic balkanization and evantual sesession from Iran specialy in a democratic secular federated republic as some people envision.

I feel sorry for any person, group or regime who will take over after IRI is gone.  Theywill have their hands full with crisis.

Hi! Maziar,

Thank you for your correction.....I recall IRI likes to say the perpetrators "confessed" already......IRI forces people to confess...and then execute them after they confess.....

Hi! vildemose,

It seems to me that there are a lot of hanging videos from Iran on you-tube....it is sad......I am not saying other countries don't execute people......they do, but they don't do it in public that often...they don't let by-standers film the hanging process.......IRI executes people in public in order to put fear in its people......and then they turn around to complain the hanging videos are old; not current, the date is wrong...IRI's image is tarnished...blah, blah, blah.....if IRI really wants to show the world they are compassionate and merciful.....they should release the political prisoners....it is not necessary to correct the date of their hanging videos! They just need to have some real actions!

please take care!

It's mind boggling that a defender of terrorist/criminal regime and radical Islam thinks he  has any credibility or dignity whatsoever. I don't understand their logic. Who are they trying to convince here that their muderous regime is legitimate.

by shahanshahesmail on

if it was a unintentional error , then he should of said that "this cant be confirmed" or something of the sort , not throw out a burst of emotion to something that has no basis logic or reason behind it. I said that video happened 2 years ago and was the execution of drug smugglers in kermanshah. I doubt this was an error in either way because this video has been peddled around lately , to try to add to the passion to the execution of the seperatist terrorists known as the PJAK and the PKK in turkey .

Where were the videos of worshippers being blown up in mosque by these PJAK who you now cry crocodile tears for? or are those in the mosques sub-human who are not iranians but some arab taazis from the desert? why arent those videos shown? its because this is the very definition of opportunism , you only show or support something that furthers YOUR OWN GOALS .You people dont give a damn about human rights and justice , you only care about furthering your own agendas.

5 PJAK seperatist terrorists who are hated by most of the world were executed , 5 less seperatists , its good for iran and the turks . This is considered high treason. They got what they deserved.

and that as they say , is that.

because you lied vildemose , you even admited it . Is this the opposition made up of liars and opportunists? the video you posted was drug smugglers being hanged 2 years ago. As usual you instead of saying "I didnt know it was 2 years ago , my mistake" you resort to insulting me.

Your threats on my life are very amusing and childish , it only further shows how much of low lifes you people are.

Do you actually believe that I work for the IRGC and they sent me to this website to monitor everyone? come on man...

Horrific and sad

by sag koochooloo on

Two weeks ago, the Human Rights Activists News Agency published a parable written by Kamangar in prison. His explanation: “Eight years ago, the grandmother of one of my students, Yassin, in the village of Marab, played the tape of the story of the teacher Mamoosta Ghootabkhaneh. She told me then, ‘I know that your fate, like the teacher who is the writer and recorder of this poem, is execution; but be strong comrade.’ The grandmother said those words as she puffed on her cigarette and stared at the mountains.”
