Iran's "second revolution" - again

Cyrus Safdari over at the Iran Affairs blog recently put together a partial list of hype for a "second revolution" or "end of the IRI regime is near" that's been published in the Western media over the past three decades. Year in year, year out, its always the same in the West: the end is near for the IRI. Trouble is, for these anti-Iran cheerleaders, they're always WRONG.

Now that's not to say Iran doesn't face many challenges- it does. But it's getting pretty pathetic all the hype and triumphalism (particularly amongst members of the completely biased and out-of-touch diaspora) that today the IRI is on the brink of implosion. See for yourself. Over the years, if you were all betting persons, you'd all be broke by now!

So far Iranians have not allowed extremists like you start a civil war in Iran. Fortunately I see enough patriotic greens such as Q that I am optimistic that you may not succeed. Wish you continued failure.

Pahlevan

Dear Fair

by Pahlevan on

It gives me pleasure to see that we patriots think so much alike, indeed nothing can unit Iranians together against this tyrannical regime more than our common love for Iran.

"Firstly, you checkmated nobody. Pahlevan said (if you can read Farsi) that this is the first time that HE has seen that somebody tie Sazegara to AIPAC, not that nobody has ever done it."

Thank you for exposing these khod-forookhteh-ha. It's indeed ironic that many of these basijis don't have a good command of the persian language and yet go around repeating the talking points of IRI about expats being "out of touch". Given the fact that hezbollahi in Iran are mostly incompetent fools who can't even speak proper farsi let alone a second language, it wouldn't surprise me if IRI has resorted to hiring opportunists who have lived outside of Iran for most of their lives to spread their propaganda. Opportunists who have no care for Iran and know little about her, yet repeat IRI's talking points about expats being out of touch like a broken record !!!

Pahlevan

Magas enghadr be khodet laaee nazan

by Pahlevan on

Magasak, the more you try to defend your pro-hezbollahi positions the more desperate and anti-Iranian you sound. You keep bringing up the baseless accusation of this Sahimi guy who is obviously paid to smear Sazegara. It's very clear that IRI is scared sh**less of the expats helping the Green movement from outside because it cannot silence them by imprisonment and execution. It is natural that IRI will fund mozdoors to smear and silence individuals like Sazegara and others who are informing Iranians and rendering IRI's propaganda  campaign inside Iran useless.

Now the real question is, even if we assume this daaee-jaan-napoleonee notion that Sazegara is an AIPAC agent is true, isn't defending IRI-supporters worse than defending AIPAC? after all IRI is the most anti-Iranian organization in the world and it has tortured, killed, raped far more Iranians than any other organization ever has ... so what does that make you Magasak? an anti-Iranian Magas who is veez veezing against Iranians, no?

"make sure you go outside tonight, perhaps you'll see his picture in the moon!"

Traditions such as seeing ones holy leader in the moon and kissing and licking the holy leader's hands and feet are exclusive to Basijis and Hezbollahi's only. We supporters of Secular Democracy, don't follow any holy figure as I have told you several times already, but I am afraid that "Mikheh aahaneen naravad bar sang" and "kaafar hameh raa be keesheh khod pendaarad".

Zemnan, ageh yekhordeh khodet ro relax kony baa pashneh-kesh jash mikonam, hich zoory ham laazem nakhahad bood, negaraan nabaash ;).

Dear Fair, would you please ignore MK? He is not at your level of love for Iran and true democracy. Also, would you please accept along with David ET the leadership of secular movement in diaspora?  There is a desperate need for leadership and organization. We have had enough debates. There is strong support for a secular government in Iran (Atash zir-e khakestar). The only thing missing is a leader and an organization.

I feel confident, once a legitimate leader shows up the outpouring of support from within and outside of Iran is like an unstoppable tsunami.

To tahgord Bigooz: It is only fair to ask you for a simple prediction. Would you please answer this question:

“will you be dead by natural causes when IRI is gone, OR by UN-NATURAL causes (like execution of a traitor)”?

Think about it….

marhoum Kharmagas

Perhaps he did tobeh!? (to Fair)

by marhoum Kharmagas on

Fair says: "......And by the way, AIPAC is much less of an anti Iran force than Islamic
Fuehrer is. The Islamic Fuehrer has killed many more Iranians than
AIPAC has, and has stood against the Iranian people much more than
AIPAC ever has."

So far, you were disputing the whole thing, wanting a proof! Now out of desperation you are arguing over the choice of words...., Sazegara has been involved with AIPAC, or  Sazegara has had ties with AIPAC....,  ... as far as I am concerned that means Sazegara is an agent of AIPAC...... now before you start arguing with me over the tense (i.e., had, versus has), ....., let me tell you that there is no reason to believe that he does not have ties to AIPAC, the writer (Dr. Sahimi) does not get into that .....  Perhaps he turned green and made TOBEH,  ......,  make sure you go outside tonight, look carefully, you'll see his face in the moon!

As for the last part of your comment (pasted above), I told you at the outset that even if you realize he is working for AIPAC you will continue supporting him (checkmate by the way)!

Fair

MK, Stop fabricating

by Fair on

Here is the sentence from Sahimi's article about Sazegara:

He had close ties with the Washington Institute for Near East for Near
East Policy, an offshoot of AIPAC, before gravitating toward the Green
Movement

This hardly means he is an "AIPAC agent" or that Sahimi "exposed him" as such. So no, you have not provided SQUAT in terms of "proof" of Sazegara being anything, and are being disingenuous. Also several people in this very link criticized Sahimi very much for trying to smear Sazegara so cheaply, to which he really had no answer.

Furthermore, maybe you weren't trying to prove anything to me, but you were trying to defend your "checkmate" of pahlevan, which by now is completely meaningless. All he said was that he had so far not seen anybody make such a connection, not that no one had done so. What you provided in response is hardly a "checkmate". It is much more like a weak weaseling out of having to stand behind what you said about someone, which you continue to do.

And by the way, AIPAC is much less of an anti Iran force than Islamic Fuehrer is. The Islamic Fuehrer has killed many more Iranians than AIPAC has, and has stood against the Iranian people much more than AIPAC ever has.

Stop the character assasination. If you are going to "expose" someone as an agent, you will have to do much better than that.

AIPAC and Sazegara (to Fair)

by marhoum Kharmagas on

My statement was that someone else other than me has exposed Sazegara as an AIPAC agent. I wasn't trying to prove anything to you! I  doubt very much if I can convince an old timer like Sazegara to come and explicitly say that he works for AIPAC so your majesty accepts my proof! Here is the link to Dr. Sahimi's article for those who want to know:

//www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/tehranbure...

by Fair on

Firstly, you checkmated nobody. Pahlevan said (if you can read Farsi) that this is the first time that HE has seen that somebody tie Sazegara to AIPAC, not that nobody has ever done it. So he made no false claim, and your "checkmate" is just a hollow self declared victory to make yourself feel better.

Secondly, your bet is wrong. I will not support anybody who is provably a puppet of any foreign or anti Iran government or organization, including AIPAC. But here is one thing also that I will not support- you coming here trying to smear a person who is doing good things to support the people of Iran, bringing up someone else's claim as "proof".

-Fair

marhoum Kharmagas

Fair

by marhoum Kharmagas on

First of all, Dr. Sahimi who in his article states Sazegara's connection to AIPAC is one of the most trusted analysts there is. But let's forget about that....., assume you are convinced that Sazegara is a an AIPAc puppet ......, will you stop supporting  him? I  bet you will not!

Secondly, your buddy was checkmated regardless of Sazegara's issues, he made a wrong claim, and I presented a link that shows someone else exposed Sazegara before I mentioned Sazegara's connection with AIPAC .... that is as simple as that!

Finally, as I told you before, my use of checkmate has/had nothing to do with regime's survival, sargord's "prediction" query ..,"waffen SS", dictatorship, UFOs,  cheap slogans, bugs bunny  .... etc!

Fair

MK

by Fair on

yes, you used the word "checkmate" against pahlevan, after trying to tie Sazegara to AIPAC (which you were not able to). It is this sort of "victory" and "checkmate" I am talking about- where you try going down a dead end path, when you see the main path is going nowhere, try to find a hollow "victory" down some small side alley. You did not "checkmate" anybody here.

I think Sazegara is doing a good thing and contributing to the opposition, and if you think he is wrong or connected to AIPAC, maybe you can step up to the plate and take his place and do better.

As far as your hope for a gradual transition, I could not agree more. That is my hope also, but like I said- that is up to the murderers in power today, led by the Islamic Fuehrer, that waffen SS major supports.

-Fair

marhoum Kharmagas

Fair

by marhoum Kharmagas on

I am the one who used the term "checkmate", and I did not use it in anyway in regards to when/if IRI will be gone! This green fellow claimed I was the FIRST person who has said Sazegara worked/works for AIPAC and I gave him the link that shows some of greens themselves have brought up Sazegara's relation with AIPAC ..... and in that context I told him he was chackmated.

As for the "prediction", I have none and I stated it right below:

"Sargourd, I don't have any prediction, however I hope for a gradual transformation of IRI to RI (Republic of Iran)......"

Fair

Desperation by the waffen SS

by Fair on

See how desperate these losers have become by saying "your lack of ability to predict the exact month and date of the downfall of the IRI is evidence that they are here to stay". Forget about debating the foundations of the regime or its legitimacy, or its popular support, that is hopeless. So we will resort to such idiocy and arbitrary games, and then artifically declare "victory" and "checkmate".

This is the sort of "victory" and "checkmate" that Khomeini and other traitors claimed all the time against the west and Iraq, when the reality on the ground in Iran showed anything but. Iranian children are still paying for these "victories".

The reality is quite simple- the regime is hated by the largest majority of people in Iran ever, and this is irreversible and unsustainable. So it is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. The question of when they will fall depends solely on how low they are willing to go and how much more appetite they have for the blood of their own people. Had it been someone with any respect at all for his country like the Shah, they would have bowed out a long time ago. But not these murderers. The likes of waffen SS major, No Fear, and the stateless terrorist regime they support have no country and are "dedicated" to raping and killing and kidnapping and torturing (i.e. "law enforcement") as many people (i.e. "undercurrent" and "dirt an dust") as it takes to stay in power.  And then they say "engage with us"!  Would you engage with someone who raped your sister?

So to ask us here how deeper into the sewer your handlers are willing to go is pointless. You are in the same sewer as they are, so you can tell us much better.

Such delusions and stupidity are typical of dictators who have nothing left to hang on to and grab onto straws.

The people of Iran have spoken-

IRANI MEEMIRAD

ZELLAT NEMIPAZIRAD

See you pathetic losers and "dedicated" "tough guys" on 22 Bahman. Shame on you for betraying and raping the Iranian people.

by marhoum Kharmagas on

With AIPAC behind him, I wouldn't be surprised if Sazegara is more known than some independent greens. My point was not that he is a known or unknown person, my point was that Sazegara is in service of AIPAC and even the independent greens know about that..... and I am not the only one who says that ...., and that is why you were checkmated despite all your zour zadan-e pahlevananeh!

BTW, Sazegara is not the only opportunist who wants to come to power through serving AIPAC ....., there are many others like him. Hopefully these laashkhors manage to cannibalize each other before they get a chance to succeed.

I have had close family members, imprisoned, tortured and murdered by the Islamic Republic authorities in Iran for no other reason than their beliefs. And we know that, sadly their experience are not isolated cases, many other innocent Iranians have suffered in similar or other ways over the past 30 years.

Therefore, I share your palpable frustration when confronting people who openly declare their fervent support for a regime that has been responsible for so many gross violations of Human Rights. However (and please don't take this as a slight), I cannot condone your comment toward "No Fear" in wishing his/her close family relatives being raped and tortured.

Maybe it was your momentary anger that caused you to express those words. I hope so.

Yes, we do want to see those who committed crimes against the people face justice one day, but surely we also want to see an Iran that will put behind the dark days of the rape, torture and murder and other horrible acts. And this should apply to everyone; ie. not only the innocent people, but even to the perpertrators of the tyranny and repression in the country.

We to see a different Iran, not a repeat of what's gone on before, do we not?

No one can accurately predict the demise of IR. It is impossible. I have no doubt that you are dedicated to supporting it; just as others are dedicated opposition.

When someone accurately predicts something it is usually by chance. For example lots of people make predictions. Once in a while one comes true. That person then is viewed in awe because people think the person is wise. More likely they got lucky. What you can do is to say a system is unstable. The IR is unstable because it is undemocratic. Iranian people want democracy. So one way or other it will happen.

If IR wants to survive it will get rid of VF or make is ceremonial. Then hold real elections without pre-screening candidates. But they won't. So IR will go. When: I have no idea but it will happen.

No Fear

I don't know what makes you so stupid, but it really works ..

by No Fear on

The OP started a very interesting and engaging thread about all previous political analysis and predictions that argued the demise of IR is imminent. He provided links and sources to validate those claims and asked us to update those predictions. This could have been a very interesting debate since most of the reasons for IR downfall has been covered previously and the predictions failed to come true.

Its hard not to recognize the irony when you compare similar events from the past 30 years with the current situation in Iran.

If the only thought that crossed your mind when predicting the date of downfall was " bezoodi", then that must have been a long and lonely journey for your mind to undergo.

Instead of acting like teletubbies , jumping up and down and calling names, start acting rationally and engage with us. Don't be afraid of my avatar , i promise i won't bite.

Me and others who support IR as whole or a Faction within IR represent a vast number of Iranians inside or outside of Iran. There are many of us. A lot more dedicated than you can imagine, yet mature enough to engage in a dialogue.

That is what Sargord did with his thread, while you displayed your true avatar.

rpRoshan

And by the way...

by rpRoshan on

You can list 50,000 false alarms of coming revolution, IT ONLY TAKES ONE VALID prediction to make you and yours disappear!

And never before since 1979 have your rapist masters in Tehran been faced with so much open, brazen dissent and revolt on such a far-reaching scale, not to mention the complete loss of IRI's legitimacy in the international arena (thanks to your sham elections, Neda's publicized death and so much more) -- and that, my fraudulent foe, is something very new to your Islamic Rapist Republic, and a fact that not even you can deny!

And don't forget, Sarmorgh, the late Shah, was also in power for a very long time -- 37 years in fact, which is even longer than your incompetent, rapist IRI, but he, too, ultimately met his Waterloo.

by rpRoshan on

You're the same charand-artist who lampoons against the so-called "Chalabis" in exile, as if to discredit their revolutionary credentials, while all along you so convinieintly ignore the biggest Chalabi of them all, the FIRST Chalabi, the "Imam's" Chalabi, who provided you and yours the very IRI's foundation, i.e., Ebrahim Yazdi, aka, "Mr. Green Card." Did you forget Ebrahim Chalabi's significance in the bigger scheme of things? But for Ebrahim "Chalabi" Yazdi's handiwork, your beloved "Imam" would never have been so endearingly embaraced by the Carter White House in 1978. In other words, you're a fraud, as is your rapist regime in Tehran.

As for predictions, your lame attempt at an exhaustive list ONLY proves that your beloved anti-Iranian rapist regime has been vicious and brutal and THREATENED from DAY 1. They have been deservedly HATED from DAY 1. They have been deservedly AT RISK of revolt from the Iranian people from DAY 1. And the ONLY reason that the rapist IRI have survived is through the use of brutal repressive Nazi-like measures, and through the use of crisis creation/management.

From the hostage crisis in 1979 to unnecessarily prolonging the Iran/Iraq war (which resulted in the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iranian youths) to the Palestinian crisis to the ongoing nuclear crisis -- IRI's survival has been accomplished through the manipulation of any and every crisis available, without which they have to explain their utter incompetence in every facet of governance, specially the economy.

Even if we assume the ridiculous notion that Sazegara and Makhlambaf are "working for AIPAC" is true; still the fact is that no one is more anti-Iran & anti-Iranian than IRI and its supporters. These parasites have made Iran so weak that its easily bullied by her enemies and taken advantage of by others. And the only way to save Iran from this weak state is to get rid of these parasites and enable Iran to earn its rightful place in the world. That said, the term "Anti-Iran cheerleader", ironically, describes you the best since you are the one who has been "cheer leading"  for Anti-Iranian Parasites like Sargouz & Q.

"And regarding Sazegara's relation with AIPAC, I am NOT the first one saying that. In fact here is a link to  a green article://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/tehranbure...And here is an except from that article (by Dr. Sahimi):"

"Dr." Sahi... Who? ... are you kidding me? Magasak do you know anything about Iran and the Green Movement?, I doubt that. because if you did you would know that Sazegara has helped organize protesters tremendously with his daily videos. Nowadays activists often distribute CDs containing Sazegara's latest videos, as activists distributed pamphlets during the Shah's regime. Most people in Iran know Sazegara and respect him whereas no one knows this so called "Dr. Sahimi" that apparently doesn't know anything about the Green movement either ... this is not 1979, this Iranian movement doesn't have a single Moghadas leader and no one can "pretend" to be its leader. The leader of this Iranian movement is the collective wisdom of the people.

I guess the fact that Sazegara's videos have helped a great deal with the organization of protests in Iran and the inability of IRI to silence Iranians outside of Iran scares the hell out of hezbollahi parasites. I wouldn't be surprised if this Sahimi guy was hired by IRI to attack and slander Sazegara ... makes sense.

Anti-Iran cheerleaders! ........ Checkmate Pahlevan!

by marhoum Kharmagas on

Pahlevan, as I said before, Sargord Pirouz' expression perfectly describes many. Some high profile examples of that type (Anti-Iran cheerleaders) are Makhmalbaf and Sazegara.
Sazegara has been working for/with AIPAC, and Makhmalbaf has gone so
far with Iran's enemies that he more or less talks like extremist
American republicans when it comes to talking about Iran's nuclear
program.

And regarding Sazegara's relation with AIPAC, I am NOT the first one saying that. In fact here is a link to  a green article:

//www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/tehranbure...

And here is an except from that article (by Dr. Sahimi):

"There are also pretenders to the leadership like Mohsen Sazegara and Mohsen Makhmalbaf, who keep sending messages "to the people Iran," as if they were the true leaders of the Green Movement, but in fact are trying to position themselves to become one. But Sazegara opposed
voting in the June 12 election, had close relations with arch-hawks
such as Michael Rubin [an advocate of sanctions and possibly war with

No Fear

Dear Sargord,

I believe its safe to assume how out of touch these " Anti Iran cheer leaders" are.  They all refused to answer your question. Obviously, none of us expected the dates to be exact, but it would have been interesting to see how they argue their points. They are not engaging as you have noticed. They are a bunch of hypocrites who need an enema to realize how small they actually become after the procedure.

Please post often and more frequently if you can. I am sure many silent observers and others like me , enjoy reading your posts since they offer a fresh and different outlook to the same ole same ole rants that are being posted here.
