by Seagull (not verified) on Sun Dec 06, 2009 07:57 PM PST"I have a crush on alex trebec", are you sure? you seem to have a
peculiar crush on certain religions, certain countries and a few
individuals here.
Now please note the following and decide where in the picture you fit and act accordingly;
"....that religion must be the
source of fellowship, the cause of unity and the nearness of God to
man. If it rouses hatred and strife it is evident that absence of
religion is preferable and an irreligious man better than one who
professes it".

Bahai Principles as"invented" "echo of the past" & "rotten" ?
by faryarm on Sun Dec 06, 2009 07:23 PM PSTWith respect
You are not qualified to judge a subject that you admittedly have no interest in; and if you claim you do, your statements show an acute superficaility and disregard for fact and history, especially with regard to the History and teachings of Baha'u'llah, that you suggest is "of the past" and an invention.
if you are bothered, care or able to engage in a logical, informed discussion of the facts; you would soon realize how outrageous and to most informed opinion, the absurdity of such statement.
If you care to answer why you think
1. Why Bahai Principles are "rotten meat"
2. Which one of its teachings are an "echo" of the past.
3. How could a Young nobleman of no formal, academic nor religious education, having refused a a Royal title and a life of luxury in the court of Qajar, have despite a life time of exile, imprisonment, and confinement uin a Turkish prison , and house arrest, have "invented" so much ; much of which did neither make sense to the average person in the 19th century, some of which was outright radical and threatening, to Muslim religious authority, and all of which in the 21st century is at the very least accepted as common sense, like the equality of men and women,Compulsory Universal Education, The necessity and adoption of world language, The formation of a world legisliature to deal with Global issues etc etc...
I am not going to bore you with any more "rotten" ideas like, world peace, human rights, elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty, etc.

faryar
there is a new book you should read faryarM
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Sun Dec 06, 2009 04:55 PM PSTit is called the angel's game. a writer is commissioned to use his talent to invent a religion. It's stunning.
I don't concern myself with religion because it's ALL rotten meat. you can pretend you have discovered truth, but it's the echo of the past. I wish so much that the United States would take away the tax haven that exists for all religious institutions. I don't know about other countries though.
Fresh Meat v or Rotten Meat ?
by faryarm on Sun Dec 06, 2009 04:46 PM PSTTo
Alex's Crush
a better analogy is perhaps...would be
Fresh Whopper Meat vs Rotten Mac Meat?
But seriosuly..
Name one Bahai who as you put it "Profit"s
and Fame for for what purpose or whom?
and who can profit from others' happiness, but society as a whole..?
You seem to have it all wrong..
How deep is your study of any Religion? Your comments unfortunately have always revealed a certain superficiality..

by yolanda on Sat Dec 05, 2009 10:28 PM PSTI recall when Roxana Saberi was jailed in Iran. She shared cell with Bahais charged with espionage. Did IRI release those Bahai inmates yet?
Thank you for the quote:

by PowerOf9 on Sat Dec 05, 2009 09:53 PM PSTMarge,
They have the food franchise for the material body and religions have the franchise for human soul!. I agree with you that some religious leaders have made a business out of this and feel it is their God given right . But rest assured that in the case of Baha'i Faith, there are no priests. The leaders are elecetd by confidential vote for a one year period and all the financial matters are reported back and audited . Baha'is can't accept money from non-Baha'is and are engaged in socio-economic projects all over the world to help the unprivileged .

Whopper tastes better…
by Anvar on Sat Dec 05, 2009 08:02 PM PSTMarge, religions are not all the same, but they share the same foundation and are from the same source.
Since you don’t like a nice juicy flame broiled Whopper, enjoy this Krusty Burger instead:
