Iranian satellite images updated

This past week Yahoo has stopped uncensoring Bandar Abbas, but not all other Iranian naval bases. The image there is recent, unlike the one on google which is from 2006. In viewing it one will see only a few Iranian naval Warships in port, as most of these ships which the western media and Iranian disinformationists claim are weak, when in fact they are strong and active. Just go to yahoo maps, type in Bandar Abbas, and see for yourself. At least on yahoo you do not have the same slanderous labels as on google and wikimapia, and this shows at least yahoo is starting to use it's satellite imaging well. Only a matter of time before Bushehr, Chabahar, Kharg, Khorramshahr, Anzali, and Noushar are uncensored as well.

Yahoo Bandar Abbas IS recent

As anyone can tel by the Jamaran's advanced construction, plus the Tariq in refit.  If you are still stupid to think the google/wiki image is recent then you really are fucked up.

It would be the only recent image then.........

Pick ANY location you are familiar with. Compare the images on wikimapia to those on yahoo maps.
Work out which is the older image.
THE DEFENCE RESTS, YOUR HONOUR!

Once again wikifreak knocka is WRONG.  Notice in the Yahoo images the Jamaran has been fitted out with it's 3 inch gun, not shown in the google/wiki image.  Therefore the Yahoo image is recent.

Yahoo Images are Years older than Google/Wikimapia

by knocka (not verified) on

The images on yahoo maps are 4-5 years older than google earth images. The yahoo maps images in my location are at least 6 years old. Everything this Zendran writes is just ridiculously WRONG.

Still not sure what this shows!!

by mahmoudg on

I am still not sure what these 2 dozen names mentioned here shows.  America alone has over 1000, count one thousand ships in all of its three fleets, Atlantic Pacific and the Indian Ocean.  With another 2000 in the drydocks ready to be summoned into action if needed.  Not sure how 24 ships in the fledgeling IRCG so called navy can withstand one hour of pounding by this mighty Armada.  The destruction of this small insignificant number of ships could be a huge signal to the Iranian populace that the support is eradicated and they can start the uprising against the regime.

First, so far none of you wikiweirdos have shown up, and if you don't start none you won't get none.  And fyi my info on naval matters is uncensored and more accurate than those of any of you anonymous wikiweirdos.

The Yahoo image of Bandar Abbas, from the summer of 2007, shows an image of Iranian naval strength with ships equal to those of america.  The ships shown in port are the Jamaran FFG prior to comissioning, an Alvand class FFG, the Tariq SSK in drydock, 2 SSK's either Ghadir class or Yugo class the image is not sharp enough to determine preciscely, a Bayandor class Frigate, 2 Hengam class LST's, a Bandar Abbas class logistical support ship, 3 Houdong class PT's, 2 Bakhtaran class PT's, 2 Parvin class PT's and a large assortment of Landing Craft and PT's.  In addition the Iraqi LST captured during the Iraq war is on display.  If anything this shows strength

I don't think that Iran needs to hide the heavy ships. This is simply because Iran purchases these warships from other countries and it is well known to foreign intelligence agencies exactly how many heavy ships Iran has.

Little or no resistance

by mahmoudg on

What this shows, as I am sure you are all aware that the Military Satellites have far more information than these commercial sites could provide, is that Iran's Navy is much smaller and weaker than what is being portrayed.  The fact that the IRGC has replaced its weak navy with that of the regular Navy shows that desperation has set in and they are trying to use propoganda as a way to show their force much more than they are capable of projecting.

Very interesting

I only counted three heavy vessels of Frigates/Destroyers types and the rest were small vessels. I thought that they had more heavy vessels.

Thank You Peter Khan

I followed this since last time you posted this issue on Wikimedia. I'm glad things are changing. There is no commenting on Yahoo, right?

You should post a direct link to the naval base.
