“The more man clings to religion, the more he believes. The more he believes, the less he knows. The less he knows, the more stupid he is. The more stupid, the easier he can be governed! The easier to govern, the better he may be exploited. The more exploited, the poorer he gets. The poorer he gets, the richer and mightier the domineering classes get, the more riches and power they amass, the heavier their yoke upon the neck of the people.” ~ J. Most

Now a couple of quotes from the two men that used islam to control Iran [Iranians]:

"In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of God, to the great Kisra of Iran. Peace be upon him, who seeks truth and expresses belief in God and in His Prophet and testifies that there is no god but God and that He has no partner, and who believes that Muhammad is His servant and Prophet. Under the Command of God, I invite you to Him. He has sent me for the guidance of all people so that I may warn them all of His wrath and may present the unbelievers with an ultimatum. Embrace Islam so that you may remain safe. And if you refuse to accept Islam, you will be responsible for the sins of the Magi." ~Prophet Muhammad

"In Islam, the legislative power and competence to establish laws belong exclusively to God Almighty."  ~Ayatollah Khomeini

In the above statement, believes is synonymous with belief and knows is synonymous with knowledge.

Weak Link in a Chain

by Anvar on

*NOT_AK69* - Without arguing for or against what you might be implying, let me just make a comment on the premise that was used here.

I am specifically referring to this portion of your quote from Johann Most: “The more man clings to religion, the more he believes. The more he believes, the less he knows. The less he knows, the more stupid he is…”

To me, there’s an illogical jump from “the more he believes” to “the less he knows.”  This weak link in the chain may make his statement worth further discussion, but I’m not sure his quote can be validly used as the premise to reach other conclusions.
