چگونه مي‌توان ايراني بود؟

حدود دويست سال پيش در عهد روشنگري، منتسكيو، نويسنده و فيلسوف فرانسوي، با لحني طنزآميز و پركنايه كه در سراسر نامه‌هاي ايراني او جلوه دارد، پرسشي تفكربرانگيز در دهان از حيرت بازمانده‌ي پاريسي‌هاي كنجكاوي گذاشت كه درباره‌ي شكل غريب و قصه‌هاي حرمسراي دو مسافر ايراني - ريكا و ازبك- از روي تعجب و فضولي پچ و پچ مي‌كردند و با هيجان تمام مي‌پرسيدند: "چگونه مي‌توان ايراني بود؟"
البته پاريسي‌هاي بي‌خيال وقتي كتاب منتسكيو را كنار نهادند كنجكاوي خود را هم كه درين مورد شايد خيالي بود از خاطر بردند و منتسكيو هم در ميان هزار و يك پرسش بي‌پاسخ كه درباره‌ي نابساماني‌هاي زمانه‌ي خويش داشت اين پرسش را ديگر فراموش كرد. اما من از وقتي هم چون يك دانش‌آموز در درس ادبيات فرانسه با اين پرسش آشنا شدم اغلب آن را مثل يك نشانه‌ي استفهام پيش نظر داشته‌ام و بارها درباره‌ي آن انديشه كرده‌ام.

The organizations which I am involved with deal with this and other topics on daily basis. ,# 1 Speaking our language is important element to keep us united and benefit from the treasures which have not been stolen or destroyed by Iranians and non-Iranians. We need to preserve what is left of our heritage for the benefit of ourselves and the future generations. ,# 2 Supporting organizations which protect our history, treasures, music, etc. ,# 3 Promoting Iranian art, music, food, etc. through occasions such as Nowrouz or Mehrghan events. ,As an old friend used to say: It is wonderful thing to be an Iranian.
