Dear Manouchehr

by Anonymous1z (not verified) on

I did not enjoy your poem this time. It is misleading and I hope it was not intentional. What is happening today with the rigged election and the in-fight between Khamenei and Rafsanjani camps is actually the Shah's fault. It is the Shah that is responsible for lack of unity among mollahs and the need by Khamenei to commit fraud against the great nation of Iran.

I hold the shah responsiblie for the results of this election.

You failed to mention him in your poem, as you always does so bravely, and instead you have focused on today's leaders.

You have disappointed me.

Something extremely strange that comes from Moosavee's mouth now is that he wants another presidential election to be held and he would be willing to participate in it.  If the votes were rigged, why not count the ballots as soon as possible?  Ballots are still there.  Why to hold another election instead?  There is something fishy here.  I believe, there is a deliberate attempt to cover-up Moosavee's clear-cut defeat and its consequences.  This much one-sided negative media coverage of an election, without going to the specifics, with %85 of particiapants and the rampage that followed is questionable.  As Rafsanjaanee had expressed in his letter, I believe, Moosavee is trying to exert his power in Tehran where he has the largest number of supporter to distract attentions from that fact; howeve even in Tehran Ahmadinezhaad has more supporters.

Sadjadpur had a "Green" tie,

by Jaleho on

but when the CNN guy brought Kaveh Afrasiabi who did NOT shout "foul" like everyone else and defended the election results, the reporter asked him:

"but, are you an Ahmadinejad supporter?!"

Now, Q has provided an article from Washington Post which shows that Ahmadinejad prior to debates had  even a more than 2-1 win from a thorough study and survey in 30 reagions of Iran. Read it here, (and make sure you click on the hyperlink for the actual study)

//www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/14/AR2009061401757.html?hpid=opinionsbox1

But, what will stick is the CNN pictures of the present day Shabaan bi mokhs, not the real result of the election! The same way that Amir Taheri's claim about Jew's dress was refuted later, but of course what remains in American mind is his original slander!

I was watching BBC World Service on channel 44 when within one or two sentences Ahamadnezhaad's victory was announced and right after that speaking about fraud and long interviews about it started with someone called Sajjadpour who was introduced as an expert in Iranian affairs.

Obviously, two great points of the elections have been covered up so far as they intended:

1.  Corruption in previous governments who have lent their support to Mousavee.  All three main axes of the whole issue (Mousavi, Rafsanjanee, and Khaatamee) were directly ruling Iran during the war and the time of suppression of political freedoms and massacrs.  Also, they have been involved in armsdeals with the West during the War. It is amazing to see that the West is willing to support and deal with those were in the position of responsibility during those disasterous years than dealing with the real voice of Iranians.

2.  The great fact that forty million of Iranians actively participated in the elections.  Have you heard they talk about that great move of over 85% participation which is unprecedented in the West?  For the propaganda system that has tried by all means to portray Ahmadinezhaad as a dictator during whose rule no voice was heard in Iran, the whole issue has to be ruined.  The amount of smearcampaign against Ahmadeenezhaad goes way beyond such an act against Mosaddegh.  I think this says a lot.

Farah Khanoom, 2 POINTS

by Jaleho on

1) I told Mazdak that CORRECTLY predicting the outpour of WINNERS if the sore losers refuse to accept their defeat gracefully is nothing particularly smart. BUTTTT... I have to say that seeing an Ahmadinejad win despite all the ugly propaganda and brainwashing against him inside and outside of Iran, was very clever (to the degree that your buddies think that I actually knew the result before it was announced!). I am indeed quite proud of my own clairvoyance, although I think I am not alone in this and at least another 25 million Iranians are as smart as I am  ;-)

Jaleho

//iranian.com/main/blog/aryansorna/our-struggle

2) I agree with you that is was a fantastic thing that Ahmadinejad had the guts to open up uncharted areas of corruption of the very top officials. The danger is that the society is not open enough yet, and as we see the accused has too much power and doesn't give up attempting to unseat him. I believe Ahmadinejad is just too popular with Iranian people for even the powerful to be able to do serious damge. Furthermore, the openness will force Ahmadinejad to give into the GOOD part of opposition's demands, for example re. women's right.

I think we saw a huge advancement of Iran's democracy in a short period of debates, as concentrated as a revolution itself!!

For one thing, it seems to me that "ammameh" is gradually becoming unfashionable, and the top candidates refer to the "university credentials" of not only themselves but the unversity educated wives!
