That NOT even one single person understood a verse that was recited during that cermony. They could have gotten a better use of the book if the place had a fireplace!

Mixing the beautiful classic persian music with the  Arabic arrrrarrr is gross ! . These are all pretending to be Muslims as soon as there is a little freedom they will all throw their islamic beliefs int the history bin and will deliver the Quran to the Arabs.  and will sing:

of this types of events makes one wonder that Shia sect is more like a cult than a religion. I don't know may be they try to make it look somehow different/modern? Iran is well known for creating sects and cults that are outside of norm that eventually appeals to outsiders, other cultures and peoples that is.

You are right.  You couldn't readily tell what's happening there and why it's important.  This ceremony has caused a lot of trouble for some authorities in the Ahmadinejad cabinet.  One person has been fired and conservatives are asking for Vice President Rahim Moshaie's resignation, again.

I posted this news item about this event last night:
