Lost between 2 cultures!

For those of us living in the west,I say that we are lost between 2 cultures.One is Iranian culture and the other is the culture of our host country.We can not ignore that we have roots in Iran and forget about our cuture and neither can we say that we are American,Canadian,English,German or from any other country,because we are not,so we need to walk a fine line between being Iranian while not ignoring the culture of our host country.

All I want for Christmas is.....

1) 1974 1/2 Ford Mustang convertible......OR

2) 1969 Camaro convertible (black).....OR

3) 2000 W sorround sound sys.(Boston Acoustics or Marantz) with a 60" HDTV....OR

4) $5000 Home Depot gift card to buy the tools I don't need, but I'm going to find a use for.............

See? I'm low maintenance!

OH....And a great time with Family (that should be #1, I guess)!

I'm having the best Christmas present

in the world fly into LAX on December 19th.  My son is coming from Pennsylvania where he is in school.  He'll be spending a week with us before flying to SC to spend a week with his dad.  I'm planning a true blue Southern Christmas celebration with all his favorite foods.  My Christmas china is out and the house is decorated.  Now if I can only find the box of tree decorations... the last thing on the tree being the angel at the top which my beloved son has always put on last.  I remember when he was so small and I lifted him high to put the angel on.  There isn't enough time in the world to spend with him but my step is lighter, my smile is brighter and my heart is full of love and thanks for this Holiday season.  You won't see much, if any, of me during that time but I hope you'll all think of me during the week and know that I'm the happiest mom in the whole wild world.

How fun and magical for your niece and nephew.  I love seeing children's faces on Christmas day.  Irandokht is right.  You should celebrate shabe yalda.  It's so pagan and cool.  It's also a great excuse to stay up all night and eat and drink.   A little ajeel and a lot more wine.

i am glad the wedding is over and i hope you got the dress thing all sorted out and every thing else fell into place. congratulations and many many happy years and also many babies for the bride and the bride groom. 

yes christmas is here and yet another excuse to celebrate and get tipsy. i am all for that.
