Schizophrenia is a cruel condition where imbalances in the brains chemicals typically triggered in one's late teens, lead an otherwise healthy human being to experience conditions of grave delusions and paranoia.  The current solution is to administer progressively stronger doses of special medication, on a permanant basis, to allow for the afflicted individual to try to live as normal a life as possible (with all sorts of side effects.)  The problem is that the cure for schizophrenia is also a poison in itself in that the progressively stronger dosage of medication required to maintain the effectiveness of the drug as the body adjusts to it eventually can lead to very serious liver damage.  Schizophrenia robs its victims of their quality of life and their ability to be all that they should be, I know of one individual afflicted with schizophrenia in their late teens whom in the absence of this affliction would no doubt have won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry, but whom unfortunately was unable to complete college because of the challenges posed by this fiend.  Millions of people are affected by schizophrenia to one degree or another, so let us collect our resources and tackle the research to eliminate this vicious condition once and for all.
