Reporters Without Borders has announced:

“We hail this decision by the city of Paris and we look forward with enthusiasm to continuing to work with ICORN with the aim of making it possible to welcome defenders of free speech to France,”

ICORN stands for the International Cities of Refugee Network, which the day before yesterday Paris became the 32nd city to join the network which affords refuge to writes facing persecution for their activities in their own homelands.

And as its first guest, Paris is to host the outstanding Iranian journalist and cartoonist Mana Neyestani, who has had to take refuge in Malaysia.

Kudos to Paris mayor Bernard Delanoë fo signING the agreement and kudos to Parisians for taking in one of Iran’s best. Paris's beauty is more than skin deep.

There are many other Iranian journalist, artist, students, academics and … who to save their lives have had to flee IRR, the Islamist Rapist Republic. It is becoming of the sane world to open its arms to them.

Those the Islamist Rapists cannot tolerate are among the best Iran has to offer, it is a terrible thing to have their talent wasted in some refugee camp somewhere.

work is excellent. Thanks for the good news, Fred. Btw, isn't Malaysia predominantly Muslim? And btw, if I knew exactly what is meant by "political sanctions", surely it's time, rather than economic ones?

Best wishes to the brilliant cartoonist.
