Lady Nasrin Sotoudeh, the imprisoned human rights lawyer in Iran, has been on hunger strike for 44 days now.
“On Monday 26 November, a group of lawyers on the initiative of Lawyers for Lawyers offered a petition to the Iranian Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands, in order to draw attention to the deteriorating health situation of Nasrin Sotoudeh, who has been on hunger strike since 17 October. Unfortunately the lawyers were not received at the embassy, upon which the petition was dropped in the embassy’s mailbox.
Lawyers for Lawyers is very concerned about Ms. Sotoudeh’s rapidly deteriorating health situation. “Human rights lawyers do not belong in prison in the first place, and under all circumstances they are entitled to decent and equal treatment like any other prisoner”, says Phon van den Biesen, President of Lawyers for Lawyers….”
Thank you Lawyers for Lawyers, you are credit not only to your profession, more importantly, to humanity, what beautiful people you are. The Dutch do it best!
The Messianic Islamist Regime criminals will soon enough get to know Hague up close, ICC, International Criminal Court is there.
Ps. Don’t forget Sattar Beheshti!

Harpi-Eagle be a smarter Iranian and let go of the
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Thu Nov 29, 2012 07:57 PM PSThate you carry for those who have harmed you and continue to harm Iran and Iranians. Ignorance will not disappear and so the actions of some will work very well for them in getting ignorants to unconsciously cause harm. It is Wisdom which will bring you more joy, the point is that foreign powers use extremism to meet their own goals, call it politics, call it divide and rule, call it what you want, you can't stop it or the ignorance that causes it to be an effective strategy, all you can do is be aware what is being done and follow a response that is the best.
The late shahs response of peacefully leaving Iran in the face of majority protests was the best response for his time, and only as a start, to anti-intellectuals and turn coats/traitors to Iran, only an Iran lover could do such an act in the full knowledge that the consequence of this would be to leave no option but for true wisdom and character to grow immensely among those living within Iran after his departure. Your response is not the solution to extremism today. Awareness is only a start, to not allow yourself to be one of those divided (most muslims are not your problem), attacking ignorance never ever worked, for a better understanding //iranian.com/main/blog/amirparvizforsecularm...

by firstdayofmylife on Thu Nov 29, 2012 08:45 AM PSTGood question, dear Mehrban.
As for the cyber basijis: The criminal and callous IRI cyber Islamist have to peddle the old tired talking points of their monstrous pay master, khameni, almost reflexively ad nauseaum here on IC. The more they write, the more we are given a chance to comprehend the depth of their perverse mentality. IRI should never be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
Thank you Lawyers for Lawyers!
by Mehrban on Thu Nov 29, 2012 08:34 AM PSTWhere is the Iranian American bar association?!
Faramarz; The phenomenon you mentioned is almost a national disease. We can never graciously accept a nice gesture, word or a gift and simply say thank you. We have to twist it and turn it and look at it upside down and find a reason to somehow reject it. I have no idea what this habit achieves for us but I am sure somewhere in the depths of our injured souls it fosters some sort of a false comfort.
