The man Islamists hate most

by Fred

The other night Stuart Levey, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, a holdover from the Bush Administration, was interviewed by Charlie Rose. The hour long interview was mostly about IRR, the Islamist Rapist Republic, and how Levey and his people are isolating it financially.

In facing up to IRR, the Islamist Rapist Republic, Levey is the last nonmilitary arrow in the quiver of the sane and civilized world. There is an ever growing segment rooting for him to succeed. I just hope before it is too late more businesses would see the light and help the guy do the good deed he is doing for all.

“Stuart Levey: … This is not just about their nuclear program. This is the country that is by far the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world. And it’s not just Hezbollah. Everyone focuses on Hezbollah. But they are not just the funder of Hezbollah.

"Charlie Rose: Who else is it?

"Stuart Levey: It’s Hamas. It’s the Palestinian Islamic jihad. It’s the PFLPGC. They even support, as I know you’ve talked about; it’s even support for elements of the Taliban. This is a state enterprise for Iran. This is part of their budget essentially that they’re going to support these terrorist groups around the world. By exposing that, we’re able to increase the effect of what I am talking about. And the IRGC is the principal organization through which they do this."

Indeed a fascist supporter like Colonel Sanders here is not worthy of your response.  Such trash openly advocate torture and rape of the Iranian people, to whom they have absolutely no connection.  They are the true rejects of our country. They have no place among our people, and could not even function for 5 minutes inside Iran without a handler kindly provided by his fascist sponsors.

Iran has always outlasted these stateless vultures, and always will.  As you say, such people are desperate and have no other course but the pathetic one they are on.

Stuart Levey the Liar

by asadabad on

S: (noun) terrorism, act of terrorism, terrorist act
(the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against
in order to attain goals that are political or religious or
ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or
instilling fear)

Since when are US/Israeli troops innocent civilians?  They are invaders, occupying foreign countries in violation of International Law and their own domestic laws.  It is a universal right for citizens to defend themselves, with physical force, against foreigners who have invaded their homeland.

Using the aforementioned American definition of terrorism, the US/Israel are the worst terrorist states because they are launching illegal wars and occupations in: Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and about 25+ other countries.

Stuart Levey is a lying piece of shit.  Fred, do you have the ability to refute the veracity of what I'm saying or will you just call me a basij with your typical ad hominem attack?

I usually don't engage in dual discussions, and I will not respond to your next comment directed to me, if any is forthcoming.

I have detected a change of tactic in your posts, which are now targeting individuals on a personal level. This tactic bespeaks desperation in your psyche.

Never increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.

Stuart Levey & the Israeli lobby

Treasury officials are sure cozy with Israel lobby by Jeff Blankfort and Phil Weiss

Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, "Setting the Trap on Iran:"

next step in this pressure campaign is the sanctions regime being
crafted by Stuart Levey, undersecretary of the Treasury for terrorism
and financial intelligence. This will have several interlocking
components: The showpiece will be a new U.N. Security Council resolution
to add sanctions against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and its
affiliated companies, along with other Iranian firms involved in
manufacturing, transporting and financing weapons shipments and other
illicit activities. But that's just the beginning.

Now here is Levey, speaking before an AIPAC policy conference in 2005, and doing some Israel sign-language:

To start, allow me to first introduce my office. I am the Under Secretary
of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial and Intelligence, or "TFI."
TFI is a relatively new office. It was created in 2004 to oversee the
Treasury Department's enforcement and intelligence functions aimed at
stopping illicit money flows to terrorists and other criminals....

is a real pleasure to be speaking with you today. I have been an
admirer of the great work this organization does since my days on the
one-year program at Hebrew University in 1983 and 1984. I want to
commend you for the important work that you are doing to promote strong
ties between Israel and the United States and to advocate for a lasting
peace in the Middle East....

We all remember the Munich Olympics
and Leon Klinghoffer and Pan Am 103 and Entebbe and Maalot and so many
more. We all knew all along that terrorist groups could not be reasoned
with or negotiated with, and that they sought nothing but destruction.
As President Bush articulated in his address to you last year,
"[Terrorists] kill without mercy. They kill without shame. And they
count their victories in the death of the innocent."

You can
imagine, then, how meaningful it is for me to play a role in this
Administration's efforts to combat terrorism. I start off every morning
reading the daily intelligence book, and then spend my day working to
undercut the supply-lines of terrorist groups. It is, quite honestly,
exhilarating. I often feel like the baseball players I used to watch
growing up who, when asked about salary issues, would say "Are you
kidding?? I get paid to do something that I love. I would do this for

Then in the New York Times a year or so back, we had "Stuart Levey's War.

Levey’s war is like ‘Charlie Wilson’s War,’ ” a U.S. official said over
coffee in the State Department cafeteria, referring to a former Texas
congressman’s campaign to change policy on Afghanistan, a saga made into
a movie. “It’s the most direct and aggressive stuff we’ve got going. It

Is it really that surprising that Levey
hangs on from Bush into Obama? Both the New York Times and the
Washington Post must have an unwritten policy in which identifying any
member of the administration or a Washington think tank with the
pro-Israel forces is not allowed. Ignatius is not an ignorant reporter
so his failure to identify Levey for what he is, an openly pro-Israel
supporter serving in a critical position in the US government, must have
some other reason.

Oh and here is Levey's number two, David Cohen, at a recent appearance at Israel lobby group Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
According to his WINEP intro, "David Cohen is the assistant treasury
secretary for terrorist financing. In this role, he is responsible for
formulating and coordinating the Treasury Department's counterterrorism
financing and anti-money-laundering efforts."

Before I begin, I want to offer my special thanks to Matt Levitt and Mike Jacobson [senior fellows at WINEP]
for facilitating this event. As many of you know, Matt and Mike each
spent several years doing outstanding work in Treasury’s Office of
Intelligence and Analysis. We at Treasury remain grateful for their
service, and the Washington Institute has been fortunate to benefit
these past few years from their insightful and innovative scholarship
on critical issues relating to terrorismand terrorist financing.

sanctions, alone, won't work

by mahmoudg on

Fred, good piece, but Mr. Levey knows, as well as most other apologists on this site, that hard sanctions will weaken this regime.  This part is true, but it will not deter them from supporting these proxy groups outside their borders.  The only way to stop state sponsor of terrorism is to remove this Rapist regime by force.  Hard sanctions will only succeed when it is followed by a surgical bombing campaign against the assets and military and Basij bases of the regime.

by AMIR1973 on

Thus far, the Obama administration deserves some credit for doing the right thing vis-a-vis sanctions against the IRI. Certainly, there are holes in the sanctions that should be addressed, but President Obama gets kudos nonetheless. As for the West-residing Groupies of the anti-Iranian, anti-American terrorist regime, their foam-flecked tirades against the Jooooz provide endless entertainment. Regards.

Thanks Fred, the Jewish Zionist Levey-lover!

Even if I could have fully understood the theory of relativity I would have never refuted it solely for Einstein's being a Jew, a Zionist one!.

IRI's internal, and international terrorist nature is a no-brainer.

Yawn... FredCo the broken record...

by Q on

the most offensive thing about FredCo is the entities continuous treatment of Iranian readers as idiots and morons, in full accordance with how AIPAC thinks and operate.

For those not familiar with FredCo's latest cheerleader in crime:

Read from the "Islamist" (LOL) James Petras:

Stuart Levey: Israel’s Foremost Operative in the US Government

Stuart Levey, Who is he? He is the Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.

In 2004, AIPAC successfully pressured the Bush Administration to create the office of Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (UTFI) and to name its protégé Princeton graduate Stuart Levey to that position. Before, but especially after his appointment, Levey was in close collaboration with the Israeli state and was known as an over the top Zionist zealot with unbounded energy and blind worship of the Israeli state.

Levey coordinates his campaign with Zionist leaders in Congress. He secures sanctions legislation in line with his campaigns. His policies clearly violate international law and national sovereignty, pressing the limits of extra territorial enforcement of his administrative fiats against a civilian economy. His violation of economic sovereignty parallels Obama’s announcement that US Special Forces would operate in violation of political sovereignty on four continents. For all intents and purposes, Levey makes US policy toward Iran. At each point he designs the escalation of sanctions, and then passes it on to the White House, which shoves it down the throats of the Security Council. Once new sanctions approved by Levey and staff are in place they are there to enforce them: identifying violators and implementing penalties. Treasury has become an outpost of Tel Aviv. Not a single leftist, liberal or social democratic publication highlights the role of Levey or even the terrible economic pain this Old Testament fanatic is inflicting on 75 million Iranian civilian workers and consumers. Indeed like Israel’s Judeo-fascist rabbis who preach a “final solution” for Israel’s enemies, Levey announces new and harsher “punishment” against the Iranian people (Stuart Levey, “Iran’s New Deceptions at Sea Must be Punished” FT 8/16/2010, p. 9). Perhaps at the appropriate moment the Jewish State will name a major avenue through the West Bank for his extraordinary services to this most unholy racist state.
