Hafez for Beginners

third way

by Hafez for Beginners on

Roozbeh: Of course it's clear that Fred isn't attacking the people of Iran. My point was that there's a philosophy of thought out there, that what is negative to you, cannot only be fought with more negative. Ferdowsi didn't just complain about the bad things he saw around him - he wrote the "Shahnameh" - a huge attempt to point to how things can be. The Shahnameh could have been an Epic outlining only the negative. It isn't. And perhaps??? that's why it became an Epic? Fighting negative with positive is a school of thought, and most of our literary maters subscribed to it under the harshest of climes.

Fred: Sorry for the intrusion. This is your Blog. I hope via Roozbeh and Anahid response, my post is more clear. It is merely intended to point to a third way.

"hafez for beginer" & "pendar", as avid visitors to Fred's blogs

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

Are well adviced to first read Fred's very  well written farsi, then try understand what he says, before commenting.

1) Fred is attacking the islamists and the islamist regime not Iranians. It is crytal clear to me the Gilaki guy reading his farsi, why is it not to an "Expert on hafez", is just baffling!

2) On Islamist regime's "Nuclear Policy"; yes it would require a "sane mind", mixed with a bit of patriotism to see the plain fact that the "undeniable rights" of Iranian nation, the rights our compatriots back home are denied  by the fascist islamist regime are:

Jobs, Education, medical care, bread, social justice and peace within Iran and with it's neighbours and the international community..Not some  diversionary claim on "nuclear energy", which s leading Iran to complete isolation, war and conflict with international community,  no matter what the objectives of this "nuclear energy" might be.

"Personal business must yield to collective interest."

Hafez for Beginners

good vs. bad vomit

by Hafez for Beginners on

Anahid: This is Fred's Blog and I don't want to fill his box  - wanted to let you know that I said vomiting is good and necessary. It is permanent vomiting that can be lethal to your health. I'm not a fan of your chosen word "wrong", but if you want to use it to describe my post, checking to make sure you got the message in the first place, would surely help.

Fred: I wish  you the best. I've found out what you hate.. yet have no idea what you like in life, or about any of what must be your positive affinities to matters Iranian. C'est Tout! (And I hope you understand, I mean this with respect. - no "right" or "wrong", just a different view.)

Afsaneh, you are so wrong.

by Anahid Hojjati on

Afsaneh, whenever someone like Fred criticizes evil, you get upset just because person is Iranian. I don't see anything wrong with exposing all the wrong that IRI and its people do. I feel insulted that when people expose these wrongs, you call it vomiting.

Hafez for Beginners

steering the ship

by Hafez for Beginners on

Fred darling: when will we be done with all that's wrong with Iranians, and focus on what's right with them, too?

Believe me, I understand the "toxicity" in our people, and sadly through teaching 4 years of Hafez, have come to see it in closer focus. At the same time, via Hafez himself, I've also stumbled across a profound people.

I personally believe it's up to us to "de-tox." Part of the process means sure, pointing what are "toxins" to you, but we also  surely have to steer the ship toward pointing to the virtues, too.  This can't be good for your own health. I mean it.

Vomiting for example is useful - but permanent vomiting will rid you of all your internal organs. I look at your titles and they make me sad, why can't this man leave what's so toxic to him?

Order, order....

by پندارنیک on

I invite our civilized sane friend, dear Fred, to present his supporting evidence which would prove beyond reasonable doubt that Iranian savages are building an atomic bomb.

The court will not admit the testimony of self-immolating members of the notorious cult on the ground of insanity.
