McCain supports the people of Iran

McCain supports the people of Iran

In his fourth of July address, Senator John MaCain (R-AZ) chose to show his total and unrestrained solidarity with the people of Iran in their struggle against the oppressive Islamist regime of Tehran - something President Obama has failed to do so publicly, so clearly, so far.

And he wants to force government health care on everyone.

I agree with you. Obama's done a better job than I expected on most issues, but on the economy he's really turning into a nightmare. The worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and he thinks it is a good time to nationalize healthcare? WTH is he thinking? Where in the world is that money supposed to come from? And even if Americans could affordtaxation sufficient to pay for that right now, that's a long term expentiture that's never going to go away. If he invested the same amount of money in alternative energy sources and technologies that didn't realy on fossile fuels, he'd actually be creating jobs and improving the long term health of the US economy. And free bonus, the US could divorce itself from middle-eastern politics, if we weren't additced to middle-eastern oil. Which would make everyone happy.

Farah khanoume Rusta, why this much hypocrisy?

You attack and badmouth all those who support the Iranian people's Green Movement, yet you get exited about McCain's opportunistic support of the same cause? What gives, grandma?

On this matter, I won't budge. Obama is not leading this country anywhere except down into the gutter. Numbers don't lie.

Bush is out of the picture, and can no longer be used as a viable scapegoat for things. This country's economy and the war in Afghanistan and whatever is left of Iraq is all Obama's now. And he wants to force government health care on everyone. $800 billion for a BS stimulus package that was designed to immediately create jobs for so-called "shovel-ready projects" and the unemployment rate continues going UP. 9.5% nationally, 11.5% in California, depending on the source. The 8th largest economy in the world if we were our own country.

And this guy is considering a proposal for ANOTHER stimulus. The BS I'm referring to is his entire agenda, which is to undermine everything this country was founded upon and turn it into a complete socialist state, with the government either owning or controlling everything. He is emulating Hugo Chavez. The private sector is screwed as long as he's in charge. And the first thing we know from Econ 101 is that the engine and lifeblood of a free-market economy is the private sector. And Obama has been pouring sugar in the gas tank.

As for McCain, if any man knows the difference between the Iranian people and the IR dictatorship, it would be him.

I'm not a supporter of any American politician or public figure expressing an opinion for the same reasons I mentioned before.....because these IR bastards will twist it and use it as fodder to increase crackdowns on the protests.

McCain's biggest offense was trying to be funny.

McCain is no friend of Iranian people and he's lying  when he sounds so
supportive.

I would tend to agree he is no friend of Iran... but I think most of his hostility is directed towards the regime, so it doesn't make him a hypocrite when he expresses sympathy and solidarity with the opposition. Nor does it make him a liar. And just because his motivations for supporting the resistance are suspect doesn't make that support less genuine. I'm guessing that he's a lot more sincere in his statements for support of the opposition than a lot of people on this website are. I'm absolutely amazed at how "MARG BAR DICTATOR" some of the people are, who have always seemed to me to be very supportive of the IRI in the past. I'm the only one who noticed? lol.

He wanted to bomb the same people he's crying for now which
makes him a hypocrite.

I suppose I am the same kind of hypocrite then, since I believe the US should have invaded Iran in 2003 instead of Iraq. Iraq had no history of sponsoring terrorism against the US. The same cannot be said of the Islamci Republic. But the neocons cared more about changing the status quo in teh Arab world than about dealing with our old nemesis, the Islamic Republic. And it cost them dearly.

Obama did more for the US just on the first day he was President than
you or McCain can do in a lifetime.

Undoubtedly. He became the most powerful man in teh world, that day. But what did he do, before that?

Military service is honorable, but
it's all about obeying orders.

You know nothing of military service, to say something like that. I learned more about leadership by the time I was 20 and a Corporal with a fireteam under my comman than I learned in 20 years working in the tech sector.

Obama is leader material, no comparison.

What good is being "leader material", if somebody never leads? John McCain was a leader in a Vietnamese prison camp. Obama will never be tested that way as President. You are right. There is no comparison. Obama is a lightweight compared to McCain. And I'm not saying that to disparage Obama... his background is the same as tens of millions of other Americans, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is McCain whose backgroudn is extraordinary. And for you to get that backwards seems pretty bizarre, to me. Can't you leave your agenda behind you for one minute and acknowledge the truth that's in front of your eyes?

What's with the vicious commentary on Obama?   How exactly is HE leading this country down?  Let's stick with the Iran issue right off the bat.  I know you'll want to go into the economy but that's not HIS fault and he's doing whatever he can to lead us OUT of the shithole Bush got us into.  But that's another story.  In that this blog is referring to the political situation, I'd think that you would be one of the first ones to acknowledge that McCain is NO friend of Iran's.  NADA, ZIPOLA.

So what exactly are you referring to when you say Obama's BS?

That is, majority of Americans slapped McCain with a LOSER SIGN, and
overwhelmingly awarded Obama as the WINNER who promised he'll talk to
Ahmadinejad.

You think Obama's election was a referendum on Ahmadinejad? How arrogant could you possible be? I didn't even vote in 2008 because I couldn't bring myself to vote for Obama, but I couldn't in good conscience for a man (McCain) who I didn't think was good enough to be President in 2004 or 2008.

I don't think McCain would be a good President. There are a lot of things about his political positions (mostly on the domestic side) that i really don't like. But he's got a lot of integrity, and IRANdokht should be ashamed of herself for calling him a liar and a hypocrite and saying he's never done anything good in his life. It's Obama who has never contributed anything of not to this country, as of yet. I, programmer craig, have done more for the US than Obama ever did before he enterred the white house. I don't mean that to insult Obama, I'm just making an observation. Obama's life story has pretty much revolved around Obama up until 2008. Which makes him like most other Americans, but he comes up a little short when it comes to Presidential qualities in my opinion. To be fair, so did GW Bush. And Bill Clinton. We haven't had many good Presidents, of late.

Speaking of the wrong side, you like dumb losers?!

by Jaleho on

Farah khanoom, there was a presidential debate in the US, Obama promised that he will talk to Iran unconditionally, and McCain said the following:

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-zoPgv_nYg

McCain lost pathetically to Obama, and inside Iran the same leader when Obama was making his promises got re-elected. That is, majority of Americans slapped McCain with a LOSER SIGN, and overwhelmingly awarded Obama as the WINNER who promised he'll talk to Ahmadinejad.

My question to you is:  Do you simply like dumb American losers, is it in your personality, or is this one an exception?
