by Majid on

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but....

Bahram-e Goor fought his adversary over two lions, according to our  history books in elementry years!

Ghuch - Ram

by Gougouli (not verified) on

Don't blame everything on the akhunds. They might not like to know that this must be a reminiscence of a very ancient ritual. Rams were considered to be an avatar of the Farreh-ye Izadi or Xvarnah in Avestan. Remember the story of Bahram-e Gur and how he fought his adversary over a ram to claim his right to the throne?

Dear friends

by ebi amirhosseini on

Thanks for your comments.Yes,I know ,this type of ignorance is not limited to Iran.As you all know, even here in America, you have Christians who practice weird rituals, like being bitten by Snake(some churches in South & mid-west).

What I meant by " Farhang Akhundi",has a wider usage in my mind;I blame all the religiuos " holy men " who use religion to fool poeple.I believe religion in any form is here to help humans, not to abuse them.

Unfortunately,in Iran,as Ali Jaan said, this kind of practice is supported & sponsered by "Akhunds"/Government.The best example is " Jamkaraan" in Ghom.

best wishes

Hi Ali P, does Ebi's

Hi Ali P,
does Ebi's "farahang akhoondi" have
any significance regarding what hazratee is saying?

--as a rule I like both your comments and ebi's too, but in this case i tend to disagree.
This kind of belief is not solely based on farhang akhoondi.

These are just examples since i don't want to reserch it in depth...

//politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blp...

There are numerous others too in all countries.

"Not so fast Mr Ebi .These types of reactions are not only in Iranian akhondy society as you put it".

How did Ebi put it? Where did he ever say, this only exists in"Iranian akhondy society"?

On a different note, if such event happens in any free society, you will also hear the media, and the intellectuals' take on the subject, rediculing such nonsense, without a fatwa, issued by the Pope or anyone else, to have them shut up.

In our dear Iran,on the other hand, the state sponsors this kind of garbage, and no one dares to say anything in opposition of it.

That, my friend, is the difference.

Respectfully,

Ali P.

Ali the Gooch

by Anonymous87 (not verified) on

Ali was a Gooch himself and killed many Iranians with his to headed Horn and the sad thing is that many Iranians are in love with a butcher like Ali who killed, raped and took their brothers and sisters to slavery. Stupidity has no limits.

Not so fast Mr ebi

These types of reactions are not only in Iranian akhondy
society as you put it. Haven't you seen similar events shown in US and
other countries Medias? Shadow of Jesus on a tree trunk, image of Jesus or Maryam
or mother Teresa on a piece of toast, on an old wall and so on?
