Stop trying to exploit

by Iranian student (not verified) on

Stop trying to exploit student struggles for your own agenda Darius. The very fact that we can challenge one of the most powerful men of the country says something. You have to face this. There are many other examples one could show. Americans can't even get within two miles of George W. Bush. The guy rightfully expressed his hatred for the interference in the electoral process, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and demagoguery. He never called for your warped fantasy of the Pahlavis return, which you're always harping on about. One of the problems the Iranian student movement suffers from is individuals such as yourself (whether they be royalist or MEK) exploiting the struggles of the student movement for their own agendas. You make us out to be agents of revolution and sedition when what we want is reform and greater democratization. Stopping hurting us. I beg you.

I don't think that this

by Nima Darabi (not verified) on

I don't think that this video is in support of IR!
By accident a brave student has criticized the government and the video has been distributed.

If you follow the student day protest in Iran look at this as well:

This is common now days in Iran

Against the popular belief in the west, these actions by the government of Iran is done purposefully to show the tolerance of the system as a whole. I do not perceive this to be an anti IRI video, on the contrary this shows to many neighboring Arabs and others the openness of the Iranian government towards opposition voice within Iran. I see this kind of news often in IRINN news channel.

I am interested to see who would become the next president of Iran. In my belief, the small steps are more solid than slippery jumps.

This should be envy of any democracy!

by Anonymo (not verified) on

Regardless of the sentiment expressed by the student the fact that a university student can so brazenly criticize head of parliament and president of a country is stunning!

Looking forward to a bright future for a free, independent, prosperous Iran. We all have to be vigilant against a racist, ruthless, aggressive regime in Israel and it's malicious intentions in near future.

Larijani was in Shiraz in October

by Javad Yassari on

I don't think Larijani goes t Shiraz University that often.  He went in October and there were demonstrations there.  I think the clip you have may be of the same trip, but it was only just released.  Here's what Iranian.com had on the incident (from outside, I guess) at the time:

Shiraz Students Jeer and Heckle Larijani

Iran's head of the Islamic Assembly, Ali Larijani was jeered and heckled by Shiraz university students at the Fajr Hall yesterday, where he was invited to speak by the hardline students. Herasat (Informers) agents at the university as well intelligence ministry operators were there in large numbers and had declared no placards or mobile phones were allowed to be carried into the hall. Everyone was searched before being allowed in. Once the students entered the hall, they saw Baseej students who had already occupied the front seats.

Despite all these measures, many of the dissident students managed to enter the hall and confronted the Baseej students by singing Yare Dabestani, the Iranian student solidarity anthem.
