Bakhtiar or no Bakhtiar

I agree shah's allies betrayed him because in Iranian politics money is more powerful than faith.

But why mullahs were backed by the west? Even before the revolution and as far reza shah's era mullahs disliked west. Do you think your comment makes sense?

Just a point following what you said since shah was considered as a friend of west shouldn't have his supporters made more noise in human right courts because of west backing mullahs?

To No doubt

by amirkabear4u on

I am not going to argue with you because been using this site for long enough to say with confidence that anti-islamists are not any better than fanatics.

But you should not allow your hate against IRI to blind your judgement. Anyone who has a clear and none bias knowledge about middleeast knows that jewish terrorism created islamic terrorism. Since the creation of that bug house (israel) in middle east anti western feeling grew. Almost like it been deliberately fueled and guess what country benefited most from it. It is naive to blame everything on oneside. It is uneducational to blame everything on one revolution (if you can call it a true revolution). Also for your information there would be a benladan if shah was still in Iran. Because they are two different issues and if you care to notice shah's ideology was the type benladan and his supporters particularly dislike, i.e. westernization.

David Owen forgot to add, or perhaps did not know, that IF Farah had not put pressure on the Shah to appoint Bakhtiar as prime minister (so the Shah could leave the country) then we would have been in Tehran today. You were enjoying your ambassadorial pension and I would be enjoying a life without tension!

Shah could not stop mullahs because mullahs were backed by the west and all of the shahs allies betrayed him.

The Islamic revolution inspired Islamic terrorism

by No doubt (not verified) on

Arabs have been furious since the inception of Israel 60 years ago and above all their humiliating defeat in the 1967 War.

What eventually gave inspiration to those fanatic lunatic ever-so-angry fundamentalist Arabs to turn full-fledged terrorists and try to impose their will upon everybody by force and terror was without a doubt, the victory and triumph of the anti-Western & anti-moderation "Islamic revolution" of 1979.

It gave them courage and/or stimulus to stand up to the West (and all those opposed to them and their way of thinking), crush and destroy the opposition and moderate progressive and liberal minded muslisms a la Khomeini and try to rule (or Khilafat) at any cost.

It goes without saying that if the Shah's rule or his son's continued, there would not be any Bin Laden as we came to know or 9/11!

YES ....

by amirkabear4u on

We did choose darkness because SOME of us see/saw a useless shah as 'the light of aryans'. When a nation can not choose its leader correctly this is what happens. He did not like his own supporters let alone his own people. 'the light of aryans' what a joke !!!!

A QUESTION

by amirkabear4u on

I agree the iraq war most likely would not happen if shah was in power. But can not understand how ben-ladan and 9/11 could have been avoided if shah was in Iran. The reason world is laughing at us is because we make and/or support wild and unfounded comments. If past british foriegn minister really said this then I am not surprised he is not that popular. These two events are to do with western policies and not shah. For the sake of argument let say shah could stop the angry arab, his supporters and their reactions. My question for all shah's supporters is;

Then why on earth shah could not stop mullahs?

Interesting Interview

by Farhad Sepahbody on
