Often against Israel's own geostrategic interests?! LOL

Yea right. They are salivating at the idea of another American war and this time with Iran. They already planted delicious "nuclear" documents and maps with Mojaheds to ignite a PR war in the media. Good work Israel! As usual, failing grade for the American media....

I remember my father saying it in the same period. Not with jubilation mind you. With deep regret and astonishment.

Sargord Pirouz

One of the notable segments

by Sargord Pirouz on

One of the notable segments of the BBC documentary Iran and the West was where Farah Pahlavi exclaimed she never imagined the Islamic Republic of Iran would last 30+ years.

She also got pretty defensive over that super-expensive "2500 year anniversary" farce that was held near Persepolis, all for the benefit of foreigners.

It's funny. I recently had occasion to converse with my aunt and the topic of the Pahlavi calendar came up. What an arbitrary absurdity that was! The sheer vanity it exposed. And then the Pahlavis were forced to lower themselves and admit it was a thoughtless mistake.

My aunt- no revolutionary, herself- predicted, before just about anyone else, that that government was "done for." To this day, her peers still shake their heads in wonderment how she was able to see the writing on the wall. (She's published a few works on that part of Iranian history.)
