RHINOS SEASON: Monica Bellucci and Behrouz Vossoughi in Ghobadi's New Film

Monica Bellucci finished shooting in Rhinos Season, the followup to Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi's art house hit No One Knows About Persian Cats. Monica Bellucci plays opposite Behrouz Vossoughi a love story set before and after the Revolution to present day Iran. Currently in post production the film is due in 2012 (See Full Cast Here)

According to Variety, Monica Bellucci described Rhinos Season as "a political film" spanning from before the revolution in Iran to the present, "but also a great love story in which [she] will play an Iranian woman."

 

Exiled 1960s-70s' Iranian megastar Behrouz Vossoughi, who made more than 90 movies in Iran before moving to Los Angeles after the Shah was deposed in 1979, is also attached.

 

Production started in Turkey last March and is currently in post production.
