Doge Marino Grimani Receiving the Persian Ambassadors of Shah Abbas The Great of Persia in a Painting by Carletto and Gabriele Caliari is exposed in the Sala delle Quattro Porte in the Doge's Palace (circa 1574)

Sala delle Quattro Porte was built following the great fire of 1574 by Antonio da Ponte on designs by Andrea Palladio and Antonio Rusconi, it served as the ceremonial antechamber where the public would wait before attending meetings of the Senate.
