or Thompson and Thomson in the English translation of the Adventures of TinTin are the twin detectives who keep repeating each other. Do they remind you of a pair we know only too closely?

OMG

by Kaveh Nouraee on

I used to have several of the Tintin comics when I was a kid. I wish I had kept them.

I truly hope Spielberg doesn't do anything to tarnish the image.

I used to be a TinTin fan

If you recall I also published the comic pictures done for Shah "Azmateh Bazyafteh" which was done by the TinTin artist.

Dear Nazy

Glad you liked Tintin too. Its so original and to think that he only did 24 albums in all ...

There are so many books and thesis' written in Europe on Tintin and its cultural influences. Andy Warhol was a Great Fan of Herge too.

Warm Regards,

Darius

PS: On a Totally Different Note I wanted to say that I admire your humanism and totally approve that you demonstrated against the Violence in Gaza. It seems that the demos in the US ( unlike what we have witnessed here in FRANCE) were more genuinely PRO PEACE than an endorsement of the HAMAS Ideology. May Wisdom Prevail in this tragic incident that I am afraid risks to be used by all who don't want a peaceful solution in the region be it Orthodox Jews or Fundamentalist muslims. Dear Darius

by Nazy Kaviani on

I love Tintin! I was delighted when my kids started showing interest in Herge books, taking pleasure in reading along with them, reminiscing about my own childhood. Young adults now, the two of them and I make a staunch fan club for Tintin. Can't wait to someday reading those books to their kids!

Thanks a billion blistering barnacles!

Darius, Tintin was and will

by desi on

Darius,

Tintin was and will be my absolute favorite comic book.  Every day after school in Iran, I would run home and scour thru my stack of books and reread his adventures.  When we left Iran, as with most Iranians we were limited with luggage and personal belongings.  My mother told me I was only allowed 2 books.  That was so tough.  I grabbed Tintin in Tibet and the Prisoners of the Sun.  I still have them!  I've now started collecting them for my son.  We just finished Tintin and the Picaros.  I can't wait for the movie.  My expectations are high.  I hope Spielberg does this justice.

Another good one Darius and happy birthday Tintin!
