Not the Shahnameh

Hey don't think this film is about the Shahnameh or any other historical and actual folkloric story. It's actually based on the first video game, Sands of Time, though they have paid homage to the Shahnameh and 1001 Nights, by selecting names from these epics for the picture.  I am excited to see it.  My friend saw a sneak in Vegas last week and said that it's purely a fun summer movie, with the exception that it's Persians and Persia. That in itself is enough for me. 

 

Persian means multicultural. Iranian means from the country of Iran. There are many Persians or Iranian peoples living outside of Iran.  It would behoove Persians all over the world, if Iranians respected this reality.

Doesn't look like Jake Gynellhaal is an albino.  So it is between Rostam and Sohrab.  As for last name we can attribute it to them not knowing when last names became legal in Iran. If he is Sohrab it'll be tear jerker but not if he is Rostam.

is an individual who does not have any skin or hair pigment so are white haired at birth- Dastan father of Rostam was an Albino and was nicknamed Zal (ie Old man).

The questions remains :-) which Prince?! Is it Zal, Rostam or Sohrab? Presumably they all have the last name, although having a last name in Iran was not official until Reza Shah.  While you're at it, what is exactly an albino?

It says he is "Prince Dastan" which could mean Rosatam-e Dastan.  Or is that Rostam's son Sohrab? Is he going to die too, is this a tear jerker?!
