by Louie Louie on Sun Jan 17, 2010 12:36 PM PSTWhat I mean is that people in Iran have watched it. They are more informed than someone like me. Compare to them I have found myself very cluless.

This is something that has to go inside Iran. Definitely. But I understand the toll of spreading this message in Iran is not the same as the toll of spreading the garbage of likes of Soroosh.

The Pahlavis, all mullahs, and all public figures associated with the Green Movement must disclose the source and the amount of their wealth/income.

by Louie Louie on Sun Jan 17, 2010 12:09 PM PSTI don't have Iranian TV and I'm pretty much clueless about whatever is happening. But by listening to a radio program, I figured many people watch the interview. Maybe Darius should post this blog one more time. It would not hurt for sure.

by benross on Sun Jan 17, 2010 11:45 AM PSTI don't know why the interviewer was suggesting that RP was 'intellectualizing' the message. It was not intellectualized. It was very simple and clear. He was right asking if there was any way to express the message simpler than that. I personally hope he doesn't make it any simpler.
The lack of clarity that MM points out is not from the language. It's from defining his role -which was downplayed for far too long- in all this. He mentioned his 'last arrow'. That would bring clarity. And as I said earlier, it has never been his last arrow. It's the only arrow he has.
Darius - I liked what I heard
by MM on Sun Jan 17, 2010 10:19 AM PSTDear Darius,
Our arguments, sometimes heated, are getting somewhere. I listened to the first video set (could not stand the audio in the second set) and liked what I heard. I have a few suggestions, my friend:
* Reza Pahlavi be concise in getting the secular democracy message across, i.e., RP would articulate the message point-by-point (1,2,3,4,...) to build the foundation for the secular democracy that he is advocating. If there is one, please publicize it.
* get this message across to the Iranian masses every day from different sources, especially the internet (he probably is and I do not see it).
* do something in Iran to show the protestors that he is involved, leading the green secular democratic movement, and doing something about it (maybe he is, and can not publicize it?) to kick the Mullahs out of there.
merci.

Now we are getting somewhere!
by benross on Thu Jan 14, 2010 08:23 PM PSTBut get ready for 'the last arrow'. There's never been any other arrow to tell you the truth! Pluralism is in the individuals, not political formations. We have not yet reached a stable modern framework in the country in which political orientations could define themselves based on different visions in social policy of the government. Until then, we can only have one voice. And we need a single roadmap, leading to a new constitution, accredited by our historic will for a modern Iran.
We've been talking about this twenty years ago, granted twenty years younger and twenty years more radical! but the substance has never changed, since we are still dealing with the same stagnation caused by the same regime.
Thanx Dariush

OnlyinAmerica - Siktir baba Siktir - I as one am sick of sentiments such as you exhibited on this thread. I am sorry to be harsh in a tork way - but you asked for it.
Dorood be roohe paak reza shah Pahlavi and Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi for all they did for Iran - and I hope RP has 1/10 of what his forefathers had. Noor be ghabreshoon bebareh
