Cartoon: The Three Muskateers!

Cartoon: The Three Muskateers!
by Azadeh Azad

I submitted this cartoon/collage to JJ five days ago while the world's attention was on these "anti-imperialist" muskateers. I never heard from JJ, so I publish it as blog as these "independent leaders"' implicit message is amusing any time.

I know. I was only joking!

You don't have to use all of the 800 pixels for the height

by Omid Hast on

As long as your drawing is within that limit of 460x800 it would not get resized, but you don't have to use the whole thing.  As a matter of fact I once tried 459x459 for a square framework, just to be sure it won't be resized for the width limit.

Omid, thanks for the tip. Next time, I might draw people tall and thin to go with the blog image size! :-)

Darius Jan, thanks. The 4th Muskateer is Kim Jong-il, but he was too ill to do saber rattling at the UN. :-)

Dear Asad, Thanks. Drawing them in an ugly fashion? Is there a colour darker than black?

New Friends

Too Bad Our Muskateers Lack an Essential quality ... And That is:

The allotted area for posting Blog Image is 460 wide by 800 high

by Omid Hast on

Loss of clarity is a big issue. It causes noticeable smudging in my drawings since the background color in my drawing is blue.  So now I draw only on a 460 pixel wide digital paper.  The height is sufficiently long enough, which can be as high as 800 pixels without being resized automatically, but the width could be a challenge.  This situation forces the drawing to be narrow and tall, requiring more creativity.  So if you want to post as Blog Image you have to plan ahead for it.

Hey, I wouldn't have published them either ;-)

Azadeh dear, they look really good, I mean too good, way way better than their normal ugly selves ... so what is the point?

There is no cartooning or lampooning going on. Next time, please only use two fingers and draw those idiots in an ugly fashion.

Love your work!

Thank you, Red Wine :-)

Dear Omid H.,

I think you are right about JJ being extremely busy these days. I have also realised that he only publishes on the front page cartoons that are directly related to Iran. For instance, he asked me to publish the following as blog. I think because it represents a universal concept that is not specific to Iran. The only problem with the blog section is that the images shrink and lose their clarity.

Omid jan nice to see you again .

Omid Hast

I don't understand it either

by Omid Hast on

I also gave up on submitting my cartoons to JJ for publication on the front page.  Several month ago a few of my cartoons were never published, at first I thought they were not good enough for publication, but then they were about different subject maters, so approving them I did not think was the issue.  I understand JJ is extremely busy, for example with regard to yours, he's been traveling, and being preoccupied with the Music Festival, so maybe he didn't get to see your cartoon on time, but I can see that your cartoon is time sensitive and should have been posted five days ago.

So now I post my cartoons as Blog Images.  I also get email delivery failure notes sometimes when I send my cartoons as attachments, so I don't know what that's about.
