Persian History Video - Inappropriate for "Citizens of the World"

Don't watch this video if you are a "citizen of the world." Or better yet, watch it and wallow in your pain and misery.

Kudos to our great kings, and to people like Ferdowsi, who kept our culture alive.

Lastly, a HUGE kudos to Iran's greatest hero, Pirouz Nahvandi for making a shish kabob out of Omar-Ibn-Al-khattab.

I thought you said you're vegan?

P.S. thanks for the warning. 'Can't watch the video, 'cause am already a serf, opa, I mean subject and I just remember Eddie Izzard everytime flags are mentioned.

Yes, Islam is all about the Chinese!

by Anonymous Observer on

Abu jaan, no one said that the flag was inspired by those countries.  The colors were, however, inspired by the same ideas...Islam, etc.  Read  your own Wikipedia post.  For a long time post Arab invasion, "Iranians" (and I use that term loosely) even used a triangular flag that they copied from the Arabs.

Geez...do I have to spoon feed you everything?

salman farsi

Islam is not about Arabs

by salman farsi on

Those, like AO, CoP, etc. who equate Islam to Arabs exhibit their poorly  hidden xenophobic feelings. And the blog's author is a common example: blaming Islam for abuse of the virgin Iranian girls by some rich Arabs, calling others racists because they condemn actions of those Arabs (using balnd sarcasm) and now showing his shallow knowledge (and xenophobia) by claiming that the Iranian tricolor flag is inspired by other Arab nations like Kuwait, Jordan and UAE!!!

Can somebody tell AO (Arab-hating Observer) that Iran had a tricolor flag long before these countries were recognised as a state.

Comparing nationalism to racism is the height of inanity.  Not understanding the difference between the two is the eptiome of small-mindedness.

COP & MRX

by Anonymous Observer on

COP Jaan- It's funny.  Abu Salman doesn't get it!

MRX1- You are correct.  I really don't consider the tri-colored flag to be the real Iranian flag either, especially now, with the crab / spider in the middle of it.   And if anyone thinks that it's not an Arab / Islamic inspired flag, s/he should like at many Arab nations' flags, such as Kuwait, Jordan, UAE, etc.

I bet...

I bet you haven't seen Hitler's expressions of satisfaction over his victory in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris! That is really interesting!

MRX1

Fantastic

by MRX1 on

Without our identity, our legacy, language and culture we are nothing. we will simply be a cesspool thirdwordish republic of some kind like the rest of the region....

There is about million things that I hate about omati and shekhi and what they done to our country, but nothing get's me more than the rag flag they worship. hope one day Derafsh Kaviani can find it's right place and become the national flag.

salman farsi

Do you always get it upside down boys?

by salman farsi on

Read my words carefully. I didn't say anything deragatory about Arabs, though those who take advantage of young girls must be condemned, I said it was most unfortunate that Iranian (traffickers) were selling their own young women.

I thought you were sharper than this?

It is utterly shameful to see this type of thing COP jaan

by Anonymous Observer on

After all that Arabs--especially those of the Arabian Peninsula--have done for us...they brought us a decent religion, culture, humanity, justice...they essentially saved us from ourselves.  And now we have people like "Salman" below accusing them of wanting to fornicate with our underaged virgin girls...

People like Salman have no shame whatsoever!!!

Cost-of-Progress

Well....salman

by Cost-of-Progress on

Looks like things haven't changed in 14 centuries, ay? Except the first time, it was mainly arabs, now it is apparently our own hamvatans (hayf az in loghat) who're doing it to each other for money.

But AO is right, you can't say antying deragatory about arabs here, you'll be chastized....My analogy, though, is right on and there are NO virgin prostitutes...or Islamic democracies. Just ask the institution of Velayat-e Faghih.

Now, you're being racist Salman

by Anonymous Observer on

Any Iranian who says anything negative about Arabs is a racist.  Plus, Arabs deserve our young girls.  It's their God given right.

salman farsi

I am sad to tell you Cop

by salman farsi on

that virgin prostitutes do exist:

//undhimmi.com/2010/09/14/iranian-traffickers-sold-underage-virgin-prostitutes-to-rich-arabs-visiting-uk/

and as you see they are Iranian girls sold to rich Arabs most unfortunately by Iranians!

I wish you had not used such a cruel analogy.

from a guy whose signature is a delusional reference to islamic "democracy"? How idiotic is that? It is analagous to a virgin prostitute. Niether exists!

Samsam & COP

by Anonymous Observer on

Samsam Jaan: you are right brother.  I can just picture these losers.  Sitting on the floor, drinking tea and dates and reciting poetry by a pedophile whose lines serve nothing but to legitimize the cultural slavery that we have been subjected to for 1400 years.  And they call it "erfan!!!"  More like mind numbing hallucinations of a pedophile nimcheh-akhoond.

But let them be asleep.  Those who know have realized that nationlism is the only way out of the mess in Iran.  Even the IR has realized it.  Actually, kudos again to Ahmadinejad and Mashaii, who, after being subjected to attacks by both the mullahs and the West residing "citizens of the world," are still keeping the "maktab-Irani" agenda alive.

COP jaan: Let them come!  I'm always ready to "engage" the Ommatti crowd, from the hardcore IR types to West residing, bleeding heart, "citizens of the world" and all the way to the neo-Greens.  :-))

Thank you all for your comments.  We truly need another Pirouz Nahvandi to rise from within Iran.

Mehrban, you are correct.  My favorite piece of Sassani architecture (after the Ctisiphone palace) is this fort in modern day Russia:

Thanks for this blog, it lifted my spirit even if speaks of an era long replaced by an alien culture and alien "teachings".

Talk about assimilation.

These people built cities, road system, irrigation systems, postal system,  devised civil rights to protect racial and ethnic minorities, men and women enjoyed euality, their artifacts of metal, clay, stone glazed tiles and bas relief are pride of museums across the world.  They are our forefathers.

Regardless or my doubtless complex DNA,  I can't help but be proud to be connected to the ancient Persians in my cultural heritage.

Ps. This is more than 100 years before the most significant Western philosopher, Socretes was musing if women have souls.

You take Kiaan outta Iran & what you got left is just another dime  a dozen dust bin in the mideast dung hole. You take Kiaan outta Iran & you got f*k all for heritage but a buncha glorified AraboPaks with oil running around singing verses of shaikhak poetry in some semi Arabic dialect ::)). Yet what is so pathetic about ommaties who diss kiaan & true Iran is when in face of Islamophobic westerner they all of a sudden acknowledge their new found "Persssiannn-ness" va az kiaan maayeh mizaran(shaikhak Inferiority complex) to save their omaro ommatie a$$ since without it, even they know they are "Nothing" but another mideast funda-mental raghead.

Well said Bro & many cheers pilgrim!!!
