Symbols of Nowrooz

by alimostofi on

This video to me represents the fun of Nowrooz, it has the energy that we all link to whatever age we are.

This is an element of Iranian culture which shows that culture is distinct from politics, religion, or commerce.

As such the Spirit of Nowrooz is the most powerful symbol we have.

Hi everyone, I posted this

by alimostofi on

Hi everyone, I posted this info on all the sites I visit fairly regularly, and those I don't go too often.  This site I do not know, iransportspress.com has had 100 hits in a couple of days.  I aslo put it in irandefence.net (30), iranunited.com (10), persiaunited.com (new), and iranpoliticsclub.net (10).

Of course, like most cultural things, most people do not react badly to this piece of info, and stay neutral.  Staying neutral is what cultural things do.  Cultural matters are not controversial, and as such are just "there" as it were; just like Damavand is there, and we all have the same awesome feeling when we look at it.  So cultural matters are not political, religious, or commercial.

But it is still quite interesting to see that some people still have reasons to argue about cultural matters (see ax at ipc), and perhaps that is why their sites do not have many people there.  Now as Nowrooz nears, it would be nice to see what each of you are doing, especially if you are in non-Iranian cultural surroundings.

I remember when I was in University, I used to go to the local Greek restaurant, asked for dolmehs, eggs and Shish kebab, and then rearrange it all on my plate to make a Chelokabab.  The Greeks used to laugh at me, but I used to do that to celebrate Nowrooz.
