Happy Birthday Cyrus Reza Pahlavi

Happy Birthday Cyrus Reza Pahlavi,

You are responsible for keeping the Royal Institution of Iran alive and well. Many think that you are far too much of an idealist, and have moved slowly. You stand firm and educate all Iranians what their national and cultural duties are. You remind us regularly where the divide is between the alien Seyyeds, and the true Iranians. We all know that the Royal Institution is there to keep the politics and religious domains of Iran separated from the ancient culture of Iran. The national character of Iran is held in the Royal Institution, and you are the personification of that Institution. You gallantly defend non violent regime change. We will change Iran in a civilized way. We can warn the Seyyeds that they have no chance against a national strike. The Iranian nation loves Iran above all else, and will threaten aliens like Seyyeds with a General Strike at the appropriate time. Until that time, the Seyyeds will know that they can be paralyzed by the Iranian nation, if the nation decided not to run the country for them. We are all united in non violent regime change.

(I will ignore any rude comments, but will gladly reply civil ones. Please do not abuse your right to speak, it will be flagged).

Dear Ali...

by Ben Madadi on

I am sure you are a nice guy. I would gladly meet you one day, God willing. However you believe in dangerous 'ideals' that sound good but hide some henous realities. The Pahlavis, Reza Shah and his son, have been nothing but normal peolpe, and there is no proof whatsoever to make them any better than anybody else. If there was a royal institution in Iran to be restored, like the one in Britain (which is useless too, but brings tourists) it would have been something, but there is no royal institution. Iran has usually been ruled by bandits.

Food for Thought: Georgia Seeks Restoration of Monarchy

by Darius Kadivar on

//www.eurasianet.org/departments/insight/articles/eav101207a.shtml TIME FOR A KING FOR GEORGIA? GEORGIA PONDERS RETURN OF MONARCHY: Leaders of Georgia's parliament along with several opposition parties have voiced their support for an initiative by the country's Orthodox patriarch to restore Georgia's monarchy on a constitutional basis. "The Patriarch for me is a great authority, and all of his thoughts and proposals demand serious consideration, Nino Burdzhanadze, the speaker of parliament said. She added that restoration of the monarchy could not happen immediately. Georgia's monarchy dissolved in 1801 when the eastern part of the country was absorbed into Russia. Historical Footnote: Between 653 and 333 BC, both Colchis and Iberia survived successive invasions by the Median Empire, and later the Persian Empire. At the end of the 3d century B.C southern Iberia witnessed the invading armies of Alexander the Great, who established a vast Greco-Macedonian empire to the south of the Caucasus. Neither Iberia nor Colchis were incorporated into the empire of Alexander or any of the successor Hellenistic states of the Middle East. The following 600 years of Georgian history were marked by struggle between Rome and Persia (Iran) including Parthians and Sassanids who were fighting long wars against each other for the domination in the Middle East including Syria, Mesopotamia, Armenia, Albania, and Iberia. In the 2nd century AD, Iberia strengthened her position in the area, especially during the reign of King Pharsman II who achieved full independence from Rome and reconquered some of the previously lost territories from declining Armenia. In the early 3rd century, Rome had to give up Albania and most of Armenia to Sassanid Iran. The province of Lazicum was given a degree of autonomy that by the end of the century developed into full independence with the formation of a new Kingdom of Lazica-Egrisi on the territories of smaller principalities of the Zans, Svans, Apsyls, and Sanyghs. This new Western Georgian state survived more than 250 years until in 562 when it was absorbed by the Byzantine

Re: Javad E.

Thank you for reminding me not to be fooled. Yes it is much easy to be deceived, and it so difficult not to.

When you refer to the shah's brutality, you could be refering to one of the two possible things that may or may not necessarily be the same. You may be refering to...

1. What his enemies told about him.

2. What the truth really was.

The question is how can "2", the truth be determined. If you go by "1", what his enemies spread about him, you will quickly find that you have an unresolvable issue in your hands. Namely some of what was told about him were later refuted BY HIS OWN ENEMIES. A few examples:

1. Cinema Rex incident.

2. Jaleh Square incident.

3. The number of political prisoners.

4. The number of those killed during his reign.

5. The amount of money he "stole".

6. Famous people killed by his order, eg, Dr. Shariati, Takhti, etc.

7. Mismanagement of the economy and deprivation of his people.

8. The list can go on...

We could not have been in every place at once to directly witness all of the above. We relied on what we heard. I discovered that some of what I "heard" and "believed" was exagerated by two order of magnitude (by 100 times). How did I discover this? By reading resources from his own enemies, the mullahs, BaniSadr, MEK, etc.

So then what do you want me to do? In 1978, when I heard how the shah ordered the fire and the horrible massacre of Cinema Rex, I was among the firsts to go to the streets and chant "death to the shah" and set fire on tires and other things along with other demonstrator. The word from pro-Khomeini Islamists was that the Shah ordered the incident. 20+ years later, we discover, through the mullahs themselves, that it was not ordered by him, that it was done by Islamists.

So what do you want me to do? Do you want me not to doubt all the other things that were said about him? Ok. I won't. I will believe the rest. But then I remember Khomeini's speeches on cassette, telling us about "hundreds of thousands" killed by the shah. Again 20+ later, I discover through the mullahs' archivists that the number was less than 4000, IN HIS ENTIRE REIGN.

So now what do you want me to do? Continue believing the other stuff? Ok. I will. Then I remember being told that the number of political prisoners were 300,000, yes "three hundred thousands". This was one of the big major reasons I became a student activist and participated in the demonstrations. Then 10+ years later I am being told, again by the shah's very own enemies, that that number was more like 30,000 (thirty thousands), then 10 years after that I am being told, again by shah's own enemies, that number was about 3000 (three thousands)....

So I ask again. What do you want me to do? I'll tell you what I must do. What any deceived person whose country, whose fellow Iranian brothers and sisters were utterly destroyed by those who deceived us should do: NOT TO BELIEVE ALL AND EVERTHING THAT WAS SAID TO US ABOUT THE SHAH DURING THE REVOLUTION.

When I take everything into consideration, I conclude that the Shah was brutal ONLY to the Islamists and their leftist accomplices, not to the average Iranian. That's why Islamists/leftists hate him so much and they attempt so hard to depict him as brutal towards all segments of the Iranian population which is utterly false, but in 78, people, including me, were bought into it. And today many still are under the spell of those lies.

By the way, whatever happened to one of the shah's most brutal acts against Iran's youth, in the cities and in the farthest reaching villages? I am refering to "taghzieye raayeggaan" (among other brutal acts....)

don't be fooled again Jamshid! You are right about the atmosphere of hype and emotion before the revolution. But this man's father was a brutal dictator and the people had real anger at Shah. If you are changing history to say that it was all a mistake, you are being fooled again. No need to defend SAVAK if you don't like the Mullahs.

Re: Caspianseamermaid and other deceived Iranians...

by jamshid on

(Note: the word "people" in my comment below does not apply to IRI supporters. They have excluded themselves from the "people" by supporting IRI.)

It's difficult to read some of the same trash that were fed to me in 78, now today after 29 years. The same sort of trash that was used to deceive people and to draw idiots like me to the streets in 1978. They are being repeated now. Do you take the Iranian people for idiots?

Shah's looted property? What looted property? Are you talking about the crown jewels the Shah COULD take with him but didn't, you ignorants? Yes, the same crown jewels the mullash looted instead. Are you talking about all the billions of dollars that he COULD take with him but he didn't? Why couldn't the mullahs produce one, ONE, shred of evidence on those stolen billions? NOT EVEN ONE. They took over all the accounts, books, banks, documents, and couldnt' come up with anything.

Yes, the Shah was a rich man, but so what? Did you expect the King of Iran to be a homeless or an average middle class Joe? There were Americans Senators that were hundreds of time wealthier than the Shah. And for whatever he had, I say NOOSHEH JOONESH.

"All the limbs torn in his oh-so gallant SAVAK ways..."??? What limbs? Where? Show one incident of a "torn limb" by SAVAK or any other agency. Just one. ONE.

This is the same sort of trash they fed me and others in 78 to take advantage of our Iranian hot-bloodedness and to induce hatred towards the shah. And yes, I did fell for this Savak crap and many other craps. I even fell for the 300,000 (three hundred thousands) political prisoner crap that turned out to be 3500.

And who were some of these 3500 prisoners? As far as I remember they were the same people who destroyed Iran, these bastard Islamists who are killing your brothers and sisters now, and their even more bastard leftist accomplices.

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY OF THE MURDERERS CURRENTLY IN THE IRI REGIME WERE IN THE SAVAK PRISON? And now that you know what these Islamists were planning for Iran, now that you can witness their atrocities on a daily basis, what do YOU think should have been done to them and to their plans, back in the 70s?

Those Islamists and their leftist whores were RIGHTFULLY AND NECESSARILY placed in prison TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE, from being raped by what you see today as IRI and all their lackeys. Savak failed because it should have been harsher. Any new regime that might replace the IRI will execute half of these ruling mullahs because they deserve it. And during the shah, they deserved prison and exile, which is exaclty what they got, just not enough.

And as far as NONE-Islamist/leftist, take Sanjabi who on several occasions spend a few days in prison, only to be fed with chelo kabaab and then be released.

As far as I am concerned I am glad Savak mistreated these bastards who are in power now. If I knew back then what I know today, I would JOIN them. For crying outloud, STOP repeating the same bullshit that YOUR OWN enemies fed you in order to manipulate you and then destroy you and your country.

I agree Majid. The "left" is pretty dogmatic and not at all suitable to the future of Iran. They are not now nor have they ever been a serious contender anyways. The Tudeh and Cheriks have all but disappeared. Mojaheds lost all credibility when they started doing Saddam's bidding.

Historical Facts

by Arion Barzan (not verified) on

Takhti committed suicide because of family related problems, his wife and mother did not get along and he suffered as a result of this. Many tried to attribute his death to the Shah's regime but his own family, those who were close to hisfamily know better. In those days, anybody and everybody, attributed everything to the regime to serve their own agenda.

Khosro Ruzbeh was a decent and highly idealistic individual who was manipulated by the likes of Abdol-Samad Kambakhsh (Soviet's #1 spy in Iran during those years) and Kianouri
(he does not need any introduction). Ruzbeh committed murder, at the orders of Kianour, killing Mohammad Masoud, so that the death could be blamed on the Imperial Court. It is sad when a decent person, regardless of ideology, goes astray. But, then again, extreme ideologies do make people become blind to their ideology's self-righteousness.

Golesorkhi was a 3rd rate poet who masterminded the attempt to kidnap the crown prince. His followers, with the exception of Keramat Daneshian, all repented and were forgiven.

Jazani's killing along with those of 8 other was a reaction to the assasination of Abbass Shahriai (communist turned informant) and General Zandipour. This was a war. Both sides killed each other. When you look at a single incident, it is easier to claim a moral standing and superiority. But, when you look at the whole picutre, things are not as back and while anymore. The perpective changes when you are willing to go beyond the romantic
confinement of the events and dare to see the truth.

History, today, shows that communism, was a total failure, from the collapse of the Soviet Union/Eastern Europe to the capitalization of Mao's China. Killingg fields of Cambodia and an Albanian style society would have evolved in Iran, had the likes of Jazani, Golesorkhi, and Roozbeh succeeded.

Respectfully,

Majid

No one would let his holiness in to their country including his ARBAB the US of A whose ass he was kissing all the time. What hell worse than that? His mother, Tajolmoluk, died in Khefat in NY a few years ago and was buried in an unmarked group grave in a section of semetery dedicated to homeless and unknown people. None of them would dish out a few bucks for a proper burial for her. Farah sent $5K from Paris to Alireza for her burial. Poola ro khord o yek panj seeri postesh! What glory for the Royal family!
