It is amazing that every time there is a discussion about Israel and its conflict with IR, how our country men ignore the fact that Israel is fighting for its survival and cannot allow another insane driven bunch to eliminate what hitler could not achieve.

I am very ashamed to see how many of the comments on this thread is pure anti-semitic.

  I think "my French" was removed based on the on & off policy of the site not because someone on admin thinks highly of YAHOO!

 However I am sure that there are watch"DOGS" watching this site that have their own "sacred cows" and warn the admin of this site against violations and consequences! As I have mentioned frequently they have even somehow allocated a couple spots on daily blogs to counter what they consider kicking of their sacred cows! ;-)

Thank you JD, Souri, disenchanted, mohammad aliereza, et al for finally voicing some sense on this web site.  I'm usually the only one fighting a whole cast of shahollahis and getting labeled as an IRI agent!  Israel has been the aggressor in the ME.  They own the US government and that's why this whole Iran fiasco has become so big.  They don't want to lose their land grab monopoly in the ME.  If the US/Israel attacks Iran it will never be able to topple the regime and the regime will be left stronger than ever.  Anyone who thinks it will result in regime change is just plain ignorant, selfish and an a...hole.  Meanwhile our homeland will be totally destroyed, a lame duck like Iraq in 1991.  Obama has turned out to be the biggest hypocrite all along.  He has cornered Iran into a position that war is their only option.  It's so obvious that they are unleashing these back breaking sanctions just as a show to bring eventual war to Iran.  Meanwhile f...ing Israel keeps saying "it's not enough".  Shame on Obama and the US congress for cowing to the Israeli lobby.

Thanks to the sanctions, the regime in Tehran is on its knees, so Israelis and others are hitting it, that is verbally, as hard as they can. And they seem to be enjoying it, too.

IR's mullahs and its goons are threatening the world on a regular basis. They have backed their threats with terrorist acts or support for small powerless groups for more than three decades. These days, they say they even want to "manage" the world.

Ahmadinejad has used the same kind of rhetoric to divert Iranians' attention from the real problems Iranians are facing at home. IR stood by and watched Lebanon's infrastructure being  destroyed, Gaza occupied and Syria bombed.

Ahmadinejad has also threatened to blow the whistle on his opponents within the regime both to silence them and to cover up the thievery committed by his corrupt friends and relatives.

The language of threat is part and parcel of IR's and IR officials' policy of self-preservation.

For Khomeini it was more ideological than political, though. To him, annihilation of Israel or as he put it, the Zionist entity, was a religious mission, a jihadist duty, so to speak. For the likes of Ahmadinejad it is essentially for political gains.

After years of war with Iraq and no victory, perhaps Khomeini had become more realistic or perhaps it was due to his failing health when he criticized those who had all the intentions to continue the war with Iraq, at any cost.

He had already given up on his life-long dream of liberating Jerusalem when he signed the letter that helped put an end to the 8-year war.

So let's not get bent out of shape, if after 33 years of perpetual threats and acts of terrorism by the regime in Tehran the favor is being returned.

As others have noted, the government of Israel is not in the habit of announcing its intentions before acting upon them or launching such attacks.

Tel Aviv and Washington are worlds apart when it comes to keeping secrets. However, Isn't it odd to hear US Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, who has been praised for his discretion, openly discuss the possibility of an Israeli military attack against Iran?

As a concerned human being

As a concerned human being & Iranian, I too am against any war, killing and violence on any human being and in this case on my own beloved Iranian people and country, IRAN!

However, I would like to share with you and ask for your honest & hopefully conscience opinion about this subject:

When a Prisoner (Iran & Iranians...) is locked up inside a Giant Prison Cell and has been tortured by brutal force (I.R. Regime) for 33 years... Don't you (logically) think an "OUTSIDE" help rescuer or rescuers ( I'm not suggesting Israel...) need/s to bring in "A KEY" to open the door of this Big Prison Cell and let the innocent people out??? or at least secretly provide them with some kind of tools for the prisoners inside to dig their way out of prison and to Freedom & Safety??? The facts on the ground proves that Iranians have been crushed brutaly everytime they rised up from inside, The criminal "Prison Warden" , The I.R. regime with the help of few Evil Super Powers (Russia, China & Some Europeans...) and Terrorist Arab  (Hezbolah, Palestinians & Syrian mercenaries)eliminated them on the spot every single time!!!! This regime has no mercy ladies & Gentlemen on IRAN & IRANIANS, THEY KILL ANYONE WHO OPPOSES THEM WITH NO HESITATION & THEY HAVE HEAVY BACK UPS!!! Don't believe it

I agree with Sialashgar that it is only to push the oil prices higher. History shows that Israel has never announced such intentions and even when it attacked other countries, treated the matter with silence afterward.

It is also true that any attack by Israel or US would be a life line for the regime, and it would not be surprising if one day they decided to help the regime in this way. After all IRI helped them by dividing and weakening the Palestinians. As Jish Daram rightly said, Israel is afraid of a free Iran and not the useless nukes.
