You're welcome!

choghok

same rythm as iranian dance music

by choghok on

this is the exact same beat as most iranian dance music, i guess bandari is also iranian dance, does not makes it less so because it is from south iran.

Rectification

This is actually a "Bandari" (Arabic) rhythm/beat (meaning a 4/8, not a 6/8) that's why it works so well with the original 4/4.

Yes absolutely right. You forgot Farhad Mehran who turned more against Shah than any other singer. I used to love his music but now I am not able to really handle it. Too much rage comes out.

I remember someone in Iran had copied "Black Magic Woman" song from Santana. Persianized it and claimed it as his own. Then when they asked about it said. "Oh yes my song is so popular that Santana has copied it from me!".

We do have our own music. It is not pop it is "Asile-h Irani" and does just fine. But it is not as "cool" or "hip" so many young people fail to appreciate it. My uncle was an expert in one of the instruments. He died young long before IRI.

Iranian pop has always been derivative. Whether its copying funk and dance music in the seventies or hip hop and rap in recent years. Still, people like Hayedeh, Mahahasti and even Dariush Eghbali (who made a living trashing the Shah) made some fantastic music. I barely recognise these new guys on the music scene...are they black...hispanic...Iranian...hybrid? Hell knows. Iranian lost identity.

Is this what the once great Persians have come to? Man we suck! How the mighty fall.

Kudos

Kudos to whoever made this, but its not my livane chai. Nice to see our thousands of years old Persian music tradition being kept alive... *cough*.

Does this qualify Pitbull to become Iranian of the Day at some point? I mean, Ahmadinejads sister made it.
