Abbas to Ahmadinejad

Palestinian leader says mind your own business

CNN: The administration of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas lashed out at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday, a day after Ahmadinejad criticized Abbas for renewing direct peace talks with Israel. "He who does not represent the Iranian people, who forged elections and who suppresses the Iranian people and stole the authority, is not entitled to talk about Palestine, or the President of Palestine," said Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesman for the Palestinian Authority, according to Wafa, the Palestinian Authority's news agency >>>

Four (4) feckless failed efforts to destroy Israel, and 60+miserable years of being abused by both Arabs, and Israelis have not given Abbas much of a hand to play.If the most Abbas can obtain for the Palis is a little more leg room, and fresh air in the Israeli "Pali-Prison",then he doesn't have to accept the further embarrassment of being criticized for it by a low-life like AN.Abbas' straight up bitch slap of AN makes my day.!

The sign off in your post:

Long Live Palestinians, Israelis and Iranians.

is the best and the most humane comment in this whole debate. And it goes contrary to the whole ethos of those (i.e. the Israeli extremists/settlers, the Palestinian extremists and the IRI thugs) who wish to ferment and prolong war and conflict, intsead of working for peace.

I take my hat off to you sir.

Well Done Abbas!

by AlexInFlorida on

Funny World No?

Congratulations to Abbas, he hit the nail right on the head.

Abbas is in a sad position, he can do nothing and America bankrolls and support Israeli Tyranny & Injustice, especially under the ideals and Leadership of Obama the sell out of hope and change, who says, America will do nothing to impose peace on Israel, so just keep raping, killing and occupying as long as you wish.

The only person worse than Israel, USA and the godless Stalin is Ahmadinejad, who is a deceitful populist, that says popular things about palestinians and does more harm to their cause than all the Jews.

Why? Because the Man is a Tyrant, A Dictator, As 90% of Persians who are opposed to him and his militia of thugs, Iranians call him the traitor "VatanForoosh," Like the Sepah/Basiji/Expediency Council & Supreme Leader who are all, in their own vatan fooroosh way, because they do not believe in Iranian Freedom, above their interpretation of Islam.

Ahmadinejad destroys the Palestinian cause because of who he and who his team are, no matter if they show they are the only ones standing up to the USA.

If Stalin stood up to the USA in support of Native Americans it would not excuse the sorry human being he was.  After all we are not all fools.

Death to IRI.

Long Live Palestinians, Israelis and Iranians.

What are you on? People are not a part of Iran if they think Abbas is not a puppet to negotiate with Israel? What the hell have Abbas, Israel and the whole Israel/Palestinian issue got to do with Iran and Iranians?

Is your thinking so warped that you judge being Iranian based on what people might think of Israel/Palestinian sides? You think Abbas is a puppet, so that makes you part of Iran, but if someone else doesn't, they are not part of Iran? That is your basis for deciding who is part of Iran and who is not?

So are we going to have a "Abbas is a puppet" column in Iranian passports from now on?

You people are unbelievable. No wonder Iran is going down the toilet.

abbas is not elected. his term ran out long ago and he is refusing to hold elections because he would lose. so much for his commitment to 'democracy'.

abbas was never strongly supported by iran. he is surrounded by a bunch of corrupt and incompetent administrators who are sell-outs. they have betrayed the palestinians. this is why people turned to hamas and gave them a majority vote in both gaza and the west bank. fatah jumped into bed with the americans and their allies to choke the people of gaza.

of course it is not up to ahmadinejad. in fact iran is only a minor supporter of hamas. it is the sunnis who provide the bulk of the support, with the saudis being the largest funder of hamas.

People will need not to vote any more & a feeling detector instead will be installed @ each doorstep. Such a comfort!!!

PS: No matter how hard Ahmadinejad tries to peddle Palestinian with his hollow rhetoric he will not succeed. It is all about “creditability.” IRI lost his creditability all together with the last presidential election & with killing of its own defenseless people in the streets. Having said all that, what I liked about this Abbas's message to Ahmadinezhad was the fact that nobody, not even a cheat (by your own comments) takes this man and the system he represents seriously any longer. This message should be clear even to the ardent supporters of the Islamist regime that they are backing the losing side. This is a completely separate issue from the morality or legality of the islamist regime.

First of all, it was 74 seats to 45 seats. what i meant was 75 seats, not %.

However, Hamas won with the majority votes and are the truly democratically elected Palestinians government by law.

The majority must feel that Hamas is representing their views and protecting their interest not Fatah.

I agree with the rest of your comment.

By all means lets discuss that, but you won't get an argument from me regarding the stolen election/selection in Iran. However you are the one that has brought Hamas (and labeling them as terrorist) into this discussion. If we are talking about unrepresented goverment speaking on behalf of people, I would argue that this is a case of "deeg be deeg meegeh root sieah" by Abbas camp as he is clearly not representing the majority of Palestinians just as AN is not representing majority of Iranians. And please remember one man's terrorist is another freedom fighter.

by thexmaster on

Is that where you got 75% from?  What a maroon.  Maybe you should finish up 6th grade before posting your stupidity.   What about the Presidential election in 2005?  Why did abbas get 62% if he was so disliked?   It's 2010 now.  There was infighting and a war that took place.   Hamas has lost its popularity.    That's why the IRI monkey leader has been franticly criticizing abbas with rhetoric and offering zero solutions

If I am missing it please correct me, but as it indicates in your own post, Hamas did not get 75% of the vote but certainly got the majority which is in line with my pervious information/comment.

While noting this, it is still all true that Hamas has been much more of a representative of Palestinian people while they have been subjected to a barbaric imprisonment/treatment by Israelis which have affectively made a Ghetto out of Gaza just to punish Palestinians for a election.

This ought to be a good lesson for all of us as how the West views democracy, not that we did not have that lesson in 1953. We also saw how they rejected the free and fair election in Lebanon when the result did not go to their likings.

by I_Voted_Missinglink on

Instead of debating if Hamas (the terrorist group which was actually formed by Moossad to create division amongst palistinian ranks) has the popular mandate of Palistinians Or Palistinian Authority (themselves , ex corrupt PLO)?

The topic of this blog: Mahmood ahmadinezhad and his alleged "election victory", Is now even being mocked by Palistinians, the very same people he and his islamist regime scream  about dawn to dusk. This to me is the final humiliating chapter in this so called Islamist "republic" Fiasco. What do you think?

Dariush A

Who won the election?

On January 25, 2006, elections were held for the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), the legislature of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA). Notwithstanding the 2005 municipal elections and the January 9, 2005 presidential election, this was the first election to the PLC since 1996; subsequent elections had been repeatedly postponed due to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Palestinian voters in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank including East Jerusalem were eligible to participate in the election.

Final results show that Hamas won the election, with 74 seats to the ruling-Fatah's 45, providing Hamas with the majority of the 132 available seats and the ability to form a majority government on their own.

Of the Electoral Lists, Hamas received 44.45% and Fatah 41.43%[1] and of the Electoral Districts, Hamas party candidates received 41.73% and Fatah party candidates received 36.96%.[2]

The Prime Minister, Ahmed Qurei, resigned, but at the request of President Mahmoud Abbas, remained as interim Prime Minister until February 19, when Hamas leader Ismail Haniya formed the new government. The Quartet threatened to cut funds to the Palestinian Authority following the elections.

While we oppose one group or the other, exaggeration and distorting facts to make our point will work against us.

Case in point, here Daruish and our newly member I-V-Missinglink have got their facts wrong. As the xmaster has pointed out the much more accurate election result which was monitored & blessed by the international bodies, yet it is the fact that vast majority of Palestinians (West bank and Gaza) do NOT support or believe in the current talks.

They have been lied to and cheated so many times that they just can't bring their hopes up for a fair and just solution, specially when you have a night club bouncer as the foreign minister.

They had a free and fair election.   Dariush the Ignorant keeps making up numbers.  Abbas was elected in '05 with 62%.  Change and reform which includes Hamas won 44% of the legislative seats in 06, with the liberation movement which includes Fateh winning 42%.  Where did you get 75% from?

Dariush A

bavafa

by Dariush A on

That is the problem. Hamas (75%) of Palestinians are not included in the process.  Is this not a dictatorship?  They want Abbas, not for common sense, because he can be bent and twisted to the form and shape they want.  If he had common sense, he wouldn't oppose the majority, divide the nation and take side with the long term enemy against his own and bring civil war.

While I support the current peace talks and hope it will be fruitful (after the 20th times) in a fair and just way for all and agree that AN needs to shut his mouth, we need to remember that Palestinians elected Hamas and they need to be included in these talks if it is going to succeed.
