by عموجان on Wed May 26, 2010 10:43 AM PDTIf these so call Pastars could have stop them self from executing all those trained military officers of Iranian arm forces, Iraq’s didn’thave the guts to even look at Iran in wrong way and the war wouldn’t have gone for eight years. I wonder how many of Iranian officers from old regime were killed by him. Banisadr, who is he. is he still alive?

Good point. Grandma died last year. But no body is touching him. I think you have a point.

by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Wed May 26, 2010 12:47 AM PDTHi Ari,
As far as I am aware, no MP3 link exists of the tape of Ayat’s secret speech. It would be fantastic to have such a document publicly available, especially BEFORE Shamkhani’s public admission. From what I remember from hearing about the content of Ayat’s speech, it is pretty much what Shamkhani is saying now in public. Basically, the fundamentalists (Khomeini, IRGC, IRP) did NOT want Iranian forces under the leadership of President Bani Sadr to win the war. Shamkhani is explicitly stating that ALL of them held this view and that if Bani Sadr leadership succeeded, then his political tanks would have won the internal political struggle. Shamkhani is explaining the rationale for the fundamentalists not helping Iranian forces when Bani Sadr was president. In other words, from September 1980 to June-July 1981, the fundamentalist leadership (Khomeini, IRGC, IRP) did not want Iranians to defeat Iraq.
Here is some info on Hojatolislam Seyyed Hussein Khomeini.
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hussein_Khomeini
//iranian.com/main/2009/jul/hossein-khomeini
Hussein Khomeini stopped being part of IRP and began supporting Bani Sadr in 1981. He gave a strong speech in Mashhad criticizing IRP. His talk was attacked by hezbollahi chomaghdars. The content of his speech was published in the Jebhe Melli’s paper inside Iran. He was imprisoned. Some apparently wanted him executed, but his grandmother, (Khomeini’s wife) saved his life. The same thing in 2003, when Hussein Khomeini supported a U.S. invasion of Iran to get rid of the regime. He was again protected by his grandmother. He now lives in Iran.
I hope this is helpful.
Until now, many activists of the period knew about this. NOW we have PUBLIC ADMISSION of this treason by the fundamentalists.

by obama on Tue May 25, 2010 11:11 PM PDTman of I have seen from IRI. Very candid! He doesn't sound radical. He sounds real and yet careful not to insult the hardliners by saying things like Rahbar is a must, since he knows if he doesn't say that he would be killed!
He is in the gang, but he knows the truth is different than what is portrayed. I guess, he knows that it is time for him to retire!
This bacheh Porroo Dezfuly is the type of radical who are creating all these problems for Iran! Smar Alek! Stupid, he wasn't even born, and he is implying that Bani sadr was fighting against Iran and was a KHAEN! Unbelivable! Radicals are the problem.
So they almost lost the war just to make sure that Banisadr's power doesn't grow! Amazing! It reminds of the Republican party and their internal fights between Army, Marines, Air force that has caused them problems because of the territorial fights for power and ego.
As Bani sadr said it was the people love for their motherland that saved the country that the these ass holes almost lost! That shows there are still divisions amongst them that must be exploited in order to overthrow them. Demostration alone won't do!

Khiyanat Khomeini, IRGC, and IRP in the War Against Iraq
by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Tue May 25, 2010 08:26 PM PDTMM,
During the war, Khomeini transferred the responsibility of commander-in-chief to Bani Sadr. Khomeini took it away right before dismissing him in 1981. Later, Khomeini transferred the commander-in-chief position to Rafsanjani (who was Speaker of Majles).
MK
=================================
Khiyanat Khomeini, IRGC, and IRP in the War Against Iraq
What is significant in Shamkhani’s interview is his open and explicit admission that during Saddam invasion and occupation of our territory, he and the whole fundamentalist group (Khomeini, IRGC, Islamic Republican Party), did not help in the war effort against Iraq because they were worried about Bani Sadr’s intention to use Iran’s victory against Iraq to increase his power in Tehran.
The fact that Khomeini and IRGC and the Islamic Republican Party (IRP) were not helping in the war effort was known previously. In a secret meeting of the leaders of the IRP, one of the top leaders of the IRP, Hassan Ayat told them explicitly that the fundamentalists want to undermine Iran’s war efforts in order to undermine President Bani Sadr. In that meeting, Khomeini’s grandson, Hussein Khomeini, taped the talk.
In this talk, Shamkhani explicitly admits that the fundamentalists saw Bani Sadr as their rivals and wanted to eliminate him. Bani Sadr was viewed as rival to Khomeini and IRGC and IRP. Therefore, the fundamentalists (Khomeini, IRGC, IRP) committed treason by undermining Iran’s war effort against Iraq for the sake of helping THEMSELVES in power and undermining President Bani Sadr.
It is amazing that the supporters of the fundamentalist terrorist regime call Mojahdein, traitors because they sided with Iraq in order to help themselves politically. Khomeini, like Rajavi, sacrificed the national interests of Iran, in or order to increase his own power and eliminate rivals.

Just to think that the war could have been over in 6 months, sparing a million people, and Iran would have been 60 billion richer. This is what happens when only one man's vote counts.
Obama,
I had the same problem with the videos not showing. I went into the internet options under tools and reset the advanced settings and I think I went back in and under advanced options, I enabled many buttons in the browser, mutimedia, java and security too. The exact clicks I do not remember. Good luck.
Make sure your java is up to date. Also, I found the following below

Hello,
When I try to watch streaming video(?) with internet explorer 7 on vista nothing happens, just a blank spot on the screen. This happens when I try to watch a show on cbs.com or my slideshow on myspace, and when I try to watch netflix "instant browse" videos. I can't figure it out. Is it something with Flash or Java or windows media player? Please help?!?!
Answer:
1. Right-click in the standard streaming video window (non-full
screen).
2. Choose 'Settings...' from the Flash Player's pop-up menu.
3. Uncheck the 'Enable Hardware Acceleration'
4. Click 'Close'.

it will take years for a REAL officer, in a REAL army to become an ADMIRAL and most don't even make it that far.

I was not brave, just wanted to help throw out the invaders
by mehdi2009 on Tue May 25, 2010 05:53 PM PDTThank you all for your comments, however I am neither a hero nor a brave one.
All the brave soldiers are either dead or living dead. The rest are eking out a living or are out of the country.
Most of the war veterans are so amazed that a COWARD like Ahmadihejad and his fellow COWARD ilk have taken over the country. Yes he was never in front because he was so afraid of fighting. You see these COWARD bullies are only brave when they confront unarmed people who ask for their rights.
I always wanted to keep my identity private, but the idiotic comments, specifically from the Apologists of the Mullah's Murderous Regime makes me want to puke every time that I read them.
I was one of the lucky ones who came out of that war in one piece physically, but how could you not have nightmares when you saw all the carnage.
After we got rid of the invaders I promised myself not to ever go back unless the Mullah's Murderous Regime is out of Power. However, the illness and passing of my father forced my hand, and after 27 years I went back just to find the country on the verge of complete disaster.
Therefore Mr. Abarmard the chief "Agent Provocateur" of the Mullah's Murderous Regime, this PHONY ADMIRAL is as interesting as your Asinine Comments on this site.

We should know the Islamic Republic is in deep trouble when people start feeling nostalgic about the kinds of Shamkhani who were not respected during their tenure as cabinet members. Shamkhani was imposed on Khatami as his Defense Minister and he did not appear as an articulate or terribly wise man at the time. Look at how wise he seems today in dodging the idiot anchor's attempts to get him to denounce other political figures or to approve the asinine thinking of those currently in power. It is a pitiful state of affairs, but one that cannot last by the very same token.

Mehdi: I don't think you were dumb to have gone back
by Bavafa on Tue May 25, 2010 03:04 PM PDTYou were indeed very brave to have gone back which is far more then many can claim. I was stationed in Abadan when Khoramshahr was freed and will never, ever forget that day and the feeling that we all had. There was no Basiji, Sepha or Artesh during that time, it was all fighting to free our home land.
But I still would never claim to be brave like you, since I was already in Iran and more or less had to go but for those who went back or volunteered, that to me is the true bravery and love for the home land.
Mehrdad
P.S. I remember we had this Sarhang "Tashakori" which was well known for his bravery in many of the battles, the type that actually would go and fight instead of hiding 50-60 miles back. He was always very kind and respectful to the regular "Ash khor" foot soldier like me and not as much towards the military personal. He would say that they were doing their job as we were essentially volunteers and he respected that very much. Sad thing is I looked him up and found him about 10 years ago just to thank him and it was sad to see what had become of him under the IRI. He is and will be a hero in my book.
No Fear, you have no right or guts to question any one
by mehdi2009 on Tue May 25, 2010 02:56 PM PDTWhere the Hell were you during the war?
As for me I was dumb enough against my parents' wishes to have gone back for 2 (1980 -82) of the best/worst years of my life to defend my beloved Iran after finishing my BS in Engineering. As I was an idealist and did not want another invasion of Iran by the Barbaric Semitic tribes to force yet again their cult on us. However, lo and behold they already had taken over the country in the name of the Islamic Murderous Regime. We owe the regaining of Khuzestan to 3 elements: 1- Brave soldiers of Iranian Army, 2- Admiral Madani (Which some one has already mentioned) and 3- Marvelous Pilots of the Iranian Air Force who were released from Prison and who put the fear in the Saddam's Air Force.
The regime asked a number of us veterans to return for their attack on Iraqi soil, but most of us had had enough of the new Islamist incompetent Commanders (If you only knew half of the truth). All of the apologists on this forum are full of BIG TIME CRAP, and most of you have not been to Iran in ages, otherwise would not speaking your Crap so easily.
I have just came back from my fourth trip to Iran since last June (2009) and let me tell you all that, things have gone from WORSE to WORST with 25% official unemployment (50% real numbers), and 30% Inflation. I buried my father and have a heavy heart, however when I heard yours (No Fear) and Abarmard's Garbage comments I had to respond to them.
People who have been to combat and seen war first hand HATE IT with PASSION, however I know that you have never been even close to a real conflict otherwise you would have shut your pipe Hole.
Salutations to All The TRUE Sons and Daughters of Iran.
