Missing scientist appears at Iranian diplomatic mission in Washington

BBC: A missing Iranian nuclear scientist, who Tehran says was kidnapped a year ago by the CIA, has taken refuge in the Iran section of Pakistan's US embassy. A spokesman from Pakistan's Foreign Office, Abdul Basit, told the BBC that Shahram Amiri was seeking immediate repatriation to Iran. In June videos purportedly of Mr Amiri but containing contradictory information on his whereabouts emerged. The US rejected Tehran's claims that it was behind Mr Amiri's disappearance. I am sure he was not kidnapped and IRI is aware of that. He's now negotiating his return. I have a feeling he either has to return or else something very bad will happen to his family.

Press TV said:

Iranian academic Shahram Amiri, who was abducted by the US last year, has been escorted by American forces to Iran's interest section in Washington.

"However, in the latest audio message obtained by Iran's intelligence sources, Amiri insists that he was offered $10 million to appear on CNN and announce that he had willingly defected to the US."
