Mansour Leghaei

Deported from Australia, returns to Iran

The Australian: MANSOUR Leghaei -- the Sydney Islamic cleric accused of spying for Iran -- will arrive back in his birth country today after being deported. The father of four flew out of Sydney last night with his wife and 14-year-old daughter Fatima after a long campaign by Australian supporters from across the religious divide failed to sway the federal government against the deportation decision. "I'm going to miss everyone so much," Dr Leghaei said yesterday after packing up his home in Sydney's inner west. The sheik's three sons will remain in Australia >>>

"You are not welcome in our country"

That's all I have to be told, before I gladly leave that country, whichever country it is!

Iranian + mollah = trouble

by javaneh29 on

Australia is reknown for it's tough immigration rules so I dont understand why his deportation should be so surprising.

If this mollah had arrived in Aussie, lived a quiet life and stayed out of contraversial issues such as religion, he would probably still be there now.  Lets face it just the words Iranian + mollah = trouble now to most people the world over. And with all the HR's abuses since the elections lasy year, all Iranian mollahs are bound to be tarred with the same brush. Im not  saying that's right or wrong but I think it's probably a truth.

I feel symapthy for his family now separated but cant help feeling he was a little short sighted from the begining. I wonder how he will be received back in Iran?

Do you HAVE to stick that nose into everything?

Sick. Horrible. Terrible. Awful

by Rosie. on

I don't know which is worse, that he got deported or some of the comments here.

So it never happened to you or a family member or friend after Septemember 11? Never got interrogated or harrassed by the authorities over some stupid thing  just because you were Iranian or even just Middle Eastern or born a Muslim? What did you do? Cry in your pillow all night and scream bloody murder for the next three years? Never got insulted for being Iranian either?

Did you watch the whole video? Did you read the whole news item? The people who supported him went all across religions lines. Including moderate Jewish, Christian, and Hindu clerics. He worked with interfaith groups. How is it possible that the newscasters are upset about it and you think it's funny?

And then you get some post deleted for using a potty word and you scream no fair, no fair, free speech, free speech!

Some of you are just DISGRACEFUL.

Especially you, mahmoudg. It's getting to a point where I wish someone would target bomb YOU.

white Australia 'spits' upon moderate Muslim cleric

by Anonymous8 on

that is the only truth here. if he was actually guilty they would not deport him. so, it's just a spit upon muslims.

IRI MUST BE THE ONLY DICTATORIAL REGIME THAT EVEN IT'S OWN ELITE AND SUPPORTERS RATHER STAY AWAY FROM.

One garbage less

in a Western country.  Let's make sure all the Mullahs and their supporters are back in Iran, so when surgical attacks, come they will all be in one place!
