Part 1
Ray McGovern is a retired CIA officer. McGovern was employed under seven US presidents for over 27 years, presenting the morning intelligence briefings at the White House under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. McGovern was born and raised in the Bronx, graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University, received an M.A. in Russian Studies from Fordham, a certificate in Theological Studies from Georgetown University, and graduated from Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
Part 2
Greg Thielmann is a Senior Fellow at the Arms Control Association, located in Washington, DC. Thielmann came to fame in 2003 when he quit his position as director of the Strategic, Proliferation and Military Affairs Office at the State Department's Intelligence Bureau, citing the manufacturing of intelligence concerning the Iraqi government's weapons program. He openly criticized the false information that was then used to gain support for launching the US-led invasion and occupation of Iraq. This brought an end to a 25-year career in the US foreign service officer.

Thanks for the clarification Mr Aminian!
by Farah Rusta on Fri Oct 16, 2009 02:27 PM PDTI won't loose a single night's sleep any more now that you have so robustly exonerated Ahmadinejad from any statement which might remotely have suggested that he may have any intension of dropping THE BOMB on the state of Israel. I wish you could translate your water-tight defence of Ahmadinejad to Hebrew and made these trigger-happy Israelis understand that although Ahmadinejd is a strict follower of his deceased Imam and enduring mentor, Khomeini, he never stated that he wished Israel vanished/wiped off from the face of the earth - his Imam Khomeini said it!!
Did you say these Americans want to destroy us peaceful and peace-loving Iranians and everything that is remotely Iranian? I wonder why?

Nice to see you again.
fixation on Iran's destruction (to aaminian)
by kharmagas on Thu Oct 15, 2009 05:06 PM PDTAs you said many in the U.S are fixated on Iran's destruction, it is not just ultra right Republicans and AIPAC but also many Democrats ..... many in the U.S have really convinced themselves that they own the world.... and as fresh as their crimes in Iraq are, they are ready to repeat them.
If they destroy Iran, and millions get displaced, impacted, or loose thier lives, there will definitely be many American intellectuals who would feel SORRY for Iran/Iranians ..... but their sorry will not do much.

by aaminian on Thu Oct 15, 2009 12:53 PM PDTThanks! I believe we Iranians need to take care of each other because a great many politicians in the US including neo-cons and even Democrats are fixated on destroying anything Iranian. They don't necessarily just want to remove the IRI!
aaminian: I second your sentiments all the way

Great Videos
by aaminian on Thu Oct 15, 2009 11:52 AM PDTI have to agree with most of what these two experts said about the current state of affairs regarding Iran's Nuclear standoff. What I did hear and still keep on hearing in the media, with a few notable exceptions like Scott Ritter and Noam Chumsky, is that Iran (read Ahmadinejad) has threathened to wipe Israel off the world map; and probably many Iranians think that's a true statements.
Now, I am no fan of Ahmadinejad or the IRI; the exact opposite, as a matter of fact but I need say this: He never said "...(Iran will) wipe Israel off the map..." or "...Israel should be wiped off the map...". What he did say is, and I am paraphrasing here, "...This cruel Israeli regime will someday be eliminated from the world map...". I believe when he said that he was actually quoting Khomeini.
Of course, the fanatic individual that he is, he'll never come out and clarify what he said so that'd, at least, shut up the corporate media in this country.
