Candlelight

Candlelight

One night in the darkness of his pain
Said butterfly to the candle flame
I come to you
From near or far
You burn the velvet of my wings
I love you still
I won't let go
What more I can do, I don't know

From depth of thought
With immense regret
Said candle to butterfly in pain:

Your beauty, the object in my light
You find safety in my embrace
As darkness no longer enfolds
Your inner pain with saddened trace
It's not my love you come to seek
It’s not me that you seem to chase

I burn thee, the old self now must die
The beauty in your light within
The freedom from games of mind
Your way out from this wrath of sin

Depth of vision

You have a deep perception, which, I believe, comes from you being able to listen to your heart and dig to see your soul. Thank you.  Very beautiful and insightul poem.
